WriterDuet

Contrary to what most people say I this app has been quite good for me. Although I find more problems on the iPhone version than when I use it on my iPad so I wonder if that might be part of it. Aside from that however it seems that after a recent update the app has stopped working for me entirely. Now whenever I open the app it just stays stuck on the blue ‘opening screen’ (the one that says WriterDuet and is completely blue from top to bottom). I hope that they fix this soon because this app is honestly my go to although I know others feels differently.

The app is frozen. It used to work but some update must have messed it up. Looking forward to a fix.

This app, seems fine to start, but there are so so so many small quality of life issues that make it unusable. The most frustrating for me is that if I embolden a word in a characters line, it will automatically embolden the entire line. And it happens every time. I don’t know how such a basic and essential tool for screen writing doesn’t function on a screenwriting app. And that’s just the top of a long list of grievances. Do yourself a favour and pick a different app.

Switched over from Celtx because the app kept crashing. Was SUPER excited to find this app because it offers better stuff for free… HAAAA IT WAS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!!! The whole app gets stuck in a glitch where I can’t tap the screen, but I can still swipe down for my notifications and control center. Im so sad I can’t find a proper screenwriting app for free.

I have lost so much work on this program, doing it because me partner uses it but there’s something wrong with the auto-save / history timeline function and I just don’t trust it anymore.

It will not let me sign in whatsoever. I enter my gmail and it just stays on that page looking like it’s eternally loading. Garbage.

Really love the computer version but my account was made with Facebook and It won’t let me sign in through that on iOS whatsoever. Very disappointing.

This app supports multiple languages and never quit accidentally which is better than Celtx. Also, the WriterDuet app itself looks same as online WriterDuet and it’s not hard to get familiar with the app, and that’s better than Fade In

This would be a useful app if the typing wasn’t chronically slow and glitchy to the point of sometimes reversing unprompted. The desktop and ipad apps are poorly synched. For example if something is italicized on the ipad app, attempting to un-italicize it on the desktop results in bugginess and freezing. My desktop and ipad are new and the internet is fast, so the issues are not at this end.
