Avis Car Rental

Terrible app. Kept going in a loop when trying to enter data, for example, would not accept my drivers license (and yes it is valid) and kept telling me I needed to include my credit card details in order to complete the drivers license section. I scroll above and it advises my credit card details have been entered and accepted. Would not let me go further. Just a nightmare! And now I can’t see if my Air New Zealand loyalty points have been included. I did try to enter them when setting up the account but once again the ‘loop’ started happening and I couldn’t get any further. Can’t see it anywhere on the app under my account. So I log on to the website where it tells me to go to the app and click on ‘add travel partner’ information. I would do that IF I COULD FIND IT! It should not be this hard for a simple procedure!

Accessed Avis booking made through a third party. Clicked on manage booking for review. Input Avis confirmation number, selected review and got message “Your reservation has been cancelled”. Cannot reinstate, have to rebook. Because of a glitch in your system.

Have always used Avis, they continually have easy booking, great service and excellent cars that are reliable, clean and safe to drive.

Sohail was awesome. Very helpful. BUT not sure the entry level model for the Octavia is “luxury”

The car was not very clean and their was a strong smell of cigarettes.

I rung the 0800 and it says office hours are from 7:30am. It’s 9:15!!

Hi, it has a preference but you never get the preference, supposed to be preferred but the car is on the other end of the parking, cannot load a business and personal portfolio on the same app,

Brisbane airport AVIS preferred is a joke they put the sign so you have something to look at while the staff joke away amongst themselves and work their way through a line of people with no bookings

The app doesn’t work. I have tried to get past receipts and even though I am selecting a different hire, the same invoice for another hire is sent to me. If you click on the personal details tab, the whole app closes. I tried to go to a different way to get a receipt that requires me to login. I can’t remember my passcode so I try and change it. Can’t get the system to recognise my details. (I have been trying all this for a month - such a time waster) Go to the web page to try, same issues - doesn’t recognise my details, then finally does, then says link expired - even though all done within minutes. Try again, doesn’t recognise me and so on and so on and so on I will now try deleting the app and starting again next, but my concern is that then I will never get back in to leave this message because I can’t login in. So I am sending this to you first. Now I can’t even send this because the rating needs a name and my name is taken. Stop making it all so hard

As a user with a legally recognised surname that has a hyphen I am annoyed this app won’t support me using my real surname when I book through the app (with the hyphen) in my account settings. I have to remove it meaning when I present my ID (drivers license or passport) that has my real name, with the hyphen, they don’t match my Avis booking. As a contradiction I can book a car using their website (as opposed to this app) using my correctly spelt surname (with hyphen) and include my Wizard ID hopefully linking my booking to my app but my online booking won’t appear in the app because my online booking has to match my credit card name (yes with a Hyphen) but the Avis app won’t put 2 and 2 together. Lastly; if you update your in-app account details it can take up to 3 snail pace days to update. Really? That’s atrocious in this day and age - it should be instant. The app is hopeless for anyone with a hyphen in their name. Even though tens of millions of travellers have hyphens in their name.
