Big Island Revealed Drive Tour

We had a week long trip and without the app we were probably going end up repeating a beach day on our final day instead we found so many more things. This app is excellent for those not sure what they will do on the big island.

This guide is the best app I’ve ever used for travel! The descriptions are excellent and in-depth and personal. This took us to intriguing locations that we never would’ve thought of stopping at and helped us interact with people in a way that we never have. He has done all the work for us and we do not have to do any research. We just hit driving mode and off we went. It was worth every penny in the first five seconds.

We absolutely love the Revealed travel guides published by Andrew Doughty. He is thorough, knowledgeable, interesting, and as my wife says, snarky funny. He gives us insights into the islands that we wouldn’t get anywhere else. He also has a great voice to listen to as you’re driving along absorbing the sites and the information he’s passing along. We started with his Kaua’i guide on our last trip to the islands, which led us to purchase the Big Island guide for our current trip. Two friends from England joined us for part of the stay. They also loved Andrew‘s tour guides. They bought one for each of the two islands they visited after they left us, Maui and Kaua’i. Andrew Doughty does a great job with both the spoken and written words in his travel guides. We especially enjoyed his description of the navigation heiau on the north end of the Big Island. His discovery of the meaning of the rocks in the heiau was fascinating. He’s a smart guy, and we feel enlightened by having him along with us on our visits. John & Kathy

We saw so much more than we ever would have! Been to the big Island 4 times and knew hardly anything until we had Andrew as our driving companion! Thanks for the extra hikes! We were exhausted. When Andrew says take a left here “it’s mandatory”, do it!! This guide does not disappoint. We have been fans of Hawaii Revealed from day one. 35 years of visiting the islands every few years makes having the latest revealed info mandatory and the driving tours deliver! Next year, Kauai and we are already looking forward to the audio tour. Thank you!!

My wife and I have traveled to the Big Island multiple times. We found this app on our most recent trip. We enjoyed the commentary and tips. We highly recommend this app.

This app is an informative and fun way to explore the Big Island for adults and children. We really enjoyed the added culture, history, and practical information provided. This is a nifty use of GPS that starts narration as you drive to points of interest. We felt we were on a big bus tour with an expert guide without the big bus hassles and expense. Excellent 5 Star app.

Andrew is a great tour guide! His dry wit keeps you listening and he truly has explored all the nooks and crannies of the island. There is nothing that was untouched. He has so much information in the guide that it is overwhelming at first. But relax, sit back, and let his dulcet tones guide you. He’s the sort of guide that you wish you could hang out with and go exploring with.

This guide has a perfect balance of historical, anecdotal and sight seeing information. The narration is so on point that now I think we are friends. Andy is my boss ;)

We love the app. The on-the-spot audio makes it feels like we have a personal guide on the drive. Really appreciated the great information about the island. However, sometimes the audio would appeared to be playing but no sound would come out of it, or just cut off in the middle of the narration. This usually happened where cell phone signal was low or not available. There is no option to download all recording ahead of time, which may make this app even more useful.
