Frankly this is the best eBook reader on the market with little to no competition. The developers are responsive and fix bugs as they come up. My only issue is that there are plenty of crashes when you're listening to TTS while playing games on your phone and the like. Other than that it is perfect and continuously evolves in a good way.
They actively take in feedback and update the app. Not sure why there is only 15 reviews, I’ve tried a lot of ereaders and this is the best one I’ve used.
Ticks all the boxes like no other app quite does, but adding your own downloaded ebooks from your files was quite finicky
Reduced the number of free books from 50 to 25 without any warning or notification. I had to Google to find out what had happened to my other books. I was considering becoming a paid member, but not if this is how they operate. Update: Changing rating because when I felt less frustrated I thought it was unfair to rate so low when the functionality of the app is very good for what it does. Communication could still be better for people who primarily want to use the app and don’t use the website— I was looking for an alternative to calibre I could use on my phone, and if you are willing to upgrade to the paid version, it would probably be pretty good for that, but at a minimum it would be good to have notices pop up in the app.
Looking forward to further improvements and optimizations for eink. Also exploring the social features more. Great work! I subbed for a year.
DYSLEXIC FONT, customizable formatting, and it keeps your place between devices. I LOVE this app.
I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect ebook reading app for a while and so far this one is one of the best I’ve found. The UI is beautiful, it’s very customizable, and it’s well organized. My use case is a little specific as I’m using it to read foreign language texts, which means I often need to define/lookup words. It’s SO close to being perfect for me. The only thing I would change is that you can’t bring up the inline context menu with the pencil, only with your finger. I wish there was at least an option to not have the pencil automatically highlight, but instead to bring up the menu, as it does with the finger. If the devs were to ever add this option it would easily be my favorite ebook reading app.
As others have mentioned the app is a great epub reader. For the sake of using the app in Portrait Mode: - Add Column View Option - Currently on allowed in Landscape Mode - Split Screen Feature to open the app in two windows on an iPad. Please add columns to Portrait Mode. For sHowever, please use caution with adding notes as these notes are not always saved. Additonally, the app needs to allow for the open to support two instances of the same app being opened. Both items are crucial for students notetaking and studying.
I’ve been using this reader for epub3 books with audio embedded and it works really well. There are a couple quirks, but it does allow me to switch between listening and reading without losing my place. I had a problem where it didn’t pause correctly for Google maps directions But when I submitted an error report the author fixed it and sent me a pre-released test within a day. So the author is very responsive and wants to make this better.
I’ve been looking for an ebook app forever and finally, FINALLY, found one that does (almost) everything I need - syncs with Calibre, my phone, and my laptop. The UI could be a little better but hey, whatever. I’d also love an option to export all my notes and highlights in my entire library but that’s a pretty niche use.
