Brick was created because we believe that life is better when phones help us do more of what matters, instead of constantly distracting us with things that don't. As two young guys, we were raised on smartphones - so we decided to make something to help us use them the way they were meant to be used.
Brick is a combination of software and NFC-powered hardware that temporarily removes distracting apps (and their notifications) from your phone - leaving only the powerful tools you choose.
With Brick, simply open the app and tap your device to block all distracting apps and notifications. Until you return to the device, you'll be free to engage with what really matters - whether that be getting productive work done, spending time with friends and family, or simply going for a walk. Once you're ready to reconnect, just tap the device again to unblock everything.
The Brick app allows you to:
- customize the apps you want to leave unblocked while Bricked
- track your usage history to see your improvement as you spend more time undistracted
- contact the creators to give input for feature requests and any necessary improvements / fixes
We believe that privacy is essential - because of this, none of your usage information leaves your phone. See our Privacy Policy for more information: https://zest-legume-e0c.notion.site/Privacy-Policy-ca7b41eaa1c441ae855cdfa69d7eb0cc

Является ли Brick фейковым или мошенническим?
🤔 Качество приложения Brick спорное. Некоторые пользователи довольны, в то время как другие сообщают о проблемах. Рекомендуем ознакомиться с отдельными отзывами для получения более полной картины.
I just started using Brick this past week. I work from home and am easily prone to distraction. Using the Brick to turn off social media platforms during the day has allowed me to regain control of my productivity. Plus I love that you can label different app groupings for different occasions- work, weekends, bedtime… there is limitless application
Breaks safari and the shortcut
You used to be able to add a shortcut that would see if brick is enabled and that worked great! I would use it to shift focus modes on my phone to change the background but they got rid of that. Plus the safari issue of them blocking every website imaginable including Google unless you say you want access. Would’ve been less willing to make an account had I realized the app would be slower, would crash more, and work less. Such a shame literally needed no update from the version just a few months ago
Great idea! Implementation still needs work…
Love the idea. Having to go downstairs to my fridge to lock up certain apps is all the motivation I need to not use the apps. However, the app needs a couple of very minor features to properly implement the idea.
1) Why do I need to go to the Brick to lock up various apps? Walking downstairs to the Brick to lock the apps makes me less motivated to use it. Perhaps this is not an option to prevent you locking certain apps without the brick accessible to unlock it. If I really needed to unlock things, I could probably just delete the Brick app.
2) There needs to be a timer feature. Like I’m fine with 15-30 mins of social media but I want it to lock up the apps after that to prevent me doom scrolling for hours.
Life Changer
I’ve only had brick a few days and maybe I’ll write an listed review when more time passes but - it’s already changing my life. I bought brick to curb my social media addiction. I saw I was spending approx 5hrs a day on social media just doom scrolling. There was a time that I used my life to create things and learn things. Use my brain differently - and lately social media has filled that space. The last two days after having Brick, my social media average is now 10minutes a day. It’s amazing how refreshed my brain feels breaking this addiction as I force myself to occupy my time creating things and living life. Thank you brick. The physical barrier to entry was the product innovation that made all the difference. Genius.
Great idea but unusable
I love the idea of this app, but the app is unusable. Any time I try to add apps to my allow or block list (I’ve tried both methods) the app crashes. I’ve tried searching for apps, per the app’s instructions, and it still crashes. I’ve owned this brick for nearly a year now and have really not been able to use it as I can’t set up the app to achieve its stated purchase. My advice is not to buy until they fix it.
Amazing
This is just what I needed. Not to be dramatic but I felt like I was losing my life to my phone. I’m seriously so grateful for this. It’s a perfect hindrance to stop me from scrolling mindlessly. I started dreaming again which is weirdddddd I thought I just lost dreams as I got older or something. Anyways, get this! Also hopefully you can make this work for android too someday because my roommate would love it :)
Pretty sure iOS 18.2 made the Brick useless
I was enjoying my Brick and appreciated the Shortcut automations suggested by Brick to block Settings and Safari. But with most recent iOS update, these shortcuts no longer work. I had reached out to customer support and none of their suggestions fixed the issue. If I can easily disable Brick mode in Settings it defeats the purpose of the device, at least for my needs.
Sneaky business practice
With the new update which asks for you to sign in with an email, they silently and sneakily take away several emergency unbricks (which allow you to unbrick your phone in an emergency when you’re away from your physical Brick) hoping that you don’t notice. Each user used to start with 5 emergency unbricks, but now you only get one after signing in. I was happy with Brick up until they devalued their product.
Update fixed nothing
The new update fixes nothing. Still having the exact same issues as before the update. I don’t have safari blocked, but because YOUR APP limits to 50 I have to have safari links blocked. So the app STILL doesn’t work properly and you decide to take away emergency unbricks? I had 4, now I have 2. Kindly, what the actual f do you guys do in that office? Your product literally doesn’t work
