. . and that’s about it. I have bother Bluetooth and WiFi connected and working with Apple CarPlay and messages and everything else but this app - the PIONEER app - won’t connect. Don’t know what to tell you folks. Kinda expected a bit more from an established company. Hope you get it fixed soon.

I found this app not to be a necessity. I can do just about everything from the head unit directly without the app. The only thing I wanted the app for is a firmware update. I could have easily used a USB stick, but I got the app. Figuring out WI-Fi connection is misery, but I got it to connect to my phone hotspot and then made the transfer from phone to head unit. I give it a 3* because the app really needs to be clear for how to connect. It isn’t easy enough for the average user.

WiFi connected on hotspot tells me it’s not. Fix your app.

Using well over a year now, and if you aren’t prepared to re pair your phone and stereo and all the settings every couple weeks, don’t even bother buying a pioneer. This app is about as least iPhone friendly as it gets. They couldn’t have paid somebody to sabotage the iPhones compatibility while making this app.

You’d think a company that charges $1,200 on a 720p radio would have the resources to make a better app

Not sure how pioneer can pull off making the best and worst stereos on the market at the same time. Their headunits always have so much potential, yet execution is always terrible and short of expectations. This app is no exception

Took me half an hour to do a firmware update via WiFi/bluetooth, unacceptable. Still can’t get it to connect correct to customize my settings (wallpaper, sites etc.). I have had this th 4660 for only 2 weeks and I’m thinking about sending it back. Not a kenwood, that’s for sure. I just want something that works out of the box and this unit has been nothing but a PITA. Fix it!

Using CarPlay and the app always says Bluetooth is not connected so I cant upgrade the firmware, Pioneer is not what it used to be

I think this is the first app review I’ve written in my 16 years of owning an iPhone. I want to call out the Executives at Pioneer for blatantly underfunding the development of this App. You have had 4+ years and plenty of valuable feedback from your customer base yet this application is still riddled with bugs, especially when it comes to firmware updates and receiver registration. Your customers deserve better.
