Worst app I have seen from a big name company in a while takes ages to connect even standing beside it just wow terrible

As other reviewers have said the wifi control of Daikin heatpumps via this app is barely functional and it is hard to justify the cost of wifi to the units given how badly it works. Issues are that it takes ages to “find” the units whether you are in the house or not. When they eventually show up in the app they are greyed out and can’t be controlled even though they are visible and it can take ages before they become “available” to the app. I find sometimes it is best to log in to the “out of home” server to control the units even though I am in the house and only a few feet away from them. The developers could also provide clearer instructions. I can’t remember the exact messages but they say things like “Log out of In Home server (out of home)” and “Log out of out of home server (at home)” and every time I see them I am not sure what they mean. The “working” star never seems to stop spinning… The “Auto login” checkbox doesn’t seem to do anything. All in all I give the app and Daikin’s wifi controllers a good strong 1 star - it seems that it can work sometimes.

The app does what it states but is so slow to load and loads after every command so quicker to just go get the physical remote. The Schedule section could be easier to set up and delete times. Based on speed to slow would not purchase Daikan units again.

They app used to be able to let me adjust the schedules on my heat pump, now this no longer works. It seems the app is still being updated but nobody is looking at the bug reports being reported by the users.

I have given up on daikins native app. It’s truly abysmal. I use home assistant instead. Completely reliable. The native app “forgets” randomly that I have 5 units and decides to show 2 or 3 or 1. Honestly. Get your act together and rearchitect this app. You should be embarrassed to put your brand on it

Ok for basic remote operation but has a clunky interface with ‘in home’ and ‘out of home’ tabs to operate the heatpumps, as opposed to having a single tab. Scheduling of heatpumps doesn’t work - the app freezes when tying to do this which was supposed to be a key benefit of the app

I can only change or delete existing schedule events on this version. It will not accept any new events! Worked fine in previous versions

The iOS app‘s way of communicating with the server or appliance is extremely poorly implemented. It generally freezes for seconds at every interaction on a recent IPhone Pro. Scheduling doesn’t work. Cannot get the devices working with Apple HomeKit either. Feels like a beta product.

The UI and functionally of this app is OK but it’s terribly built. It’s super slow and you have to wait after every interaction for it to send the command. If you don’t wait it crashes. It feels like the app and API it uses are very poorly implemented. Daikin, please open your API so other projects like Home Assistant can build better integrations.
