Absolutely rubbish

Captain Stobbo on

As other reviewers have said the wifi control of Daikin heatpumps via this app is barely functional and it is hard to justify the cost of wifi to the units given how badly it works. Issues are that it takes ages to “find” the units whether you are in the house or not. When they eventually show up in the app they are greyed out and can’t be controlled even though they are visible and it can take ages before they become “available” to the app. I find sometimes it is best to log in to the “out of home” server to control the units even though I am in the house and only a few feet away from them. The developers could also provide clearer instructions. I can’t remember the exact messages but they say things like “Log out of In Home server (out of home)” and “Log out of out of home server (at home)” and every time I see them I am not sure what they mean. The “working” star never seems to stop spinning… The “Auto login” checkbox doesn’t seem to do anything. All in all I give the app and Daikin’s wifi controllers a good strong 1 star - it seems that it can work sometimes.

Poor app

äüö123 on

The iOS app‘s way of communicating with the server or appliance is extremely poorly implemented. It generally freezes for seconds at every interaction on a recent IPhone Pro. Scheduling doesn’t work. Cannot get the devices working with Apple HomeKit either. Feels like a beta product.

Slow and unreliable

markzeman on

The UI and functionally of this app is OK but it’s terribly built. It’s super slow and you have to wait after every interaction for it to send the command. If you don’t wait it crashes. It feels like the app and API it uses are very poorly implemented. Daikin, please open your API so other projects like Home Assistant can build better integrations.

Awful

Asdfgtrxbmmreq753 on

What a shame my expensive Daikin A/C belongs in the pre App age of darkness. Often loses connection and now following a new modem is unable to connect at all. Tedious process that failed. Mitsibushi app works great at work !

Iphone 14

What nickname hasn’t been used on

The app works fine with my old 5s and iphone 12 through wifi at home or the out of home option But the new iphone14 it wont work through wifi when at home it will only work using the out of home option.

Unreliable

fast135 on

Schedule doesn’t always work. And I can only use my phone to control the unit when the phone and unit are on the same WiFi network. So when ‘out of home’ I can’t control the unit at all. The app doesn’t see the unit. Only says ‘no units found’ This is the only connected device in my house that has trouble. I wish I bought a Mitsubishi Heat Pump in stead.

Great when it works

Skiben on

Disappointed with how slow and unreliable the app is. Was not worth the cost upgrading my heat hump units to work with wifi. You have no way to trust that the heat pumps are actually responding unless you are next to the heat pumps with eyes on them. Costing me a lot by trying to turn them off when I’m not in the house where the app tells you they are off but in reality they are still on using our power. Please sort this, I can’ recommend your products until the app is seriously overhauled.

fix it!!

kelllstr on

why can’t you fix the centering of the temperature numbers??? broke it a couple of updates ago. it certainly doesn’t look like the screenshot on the description of this app… it looks amateur now :(

Indoor temperature

uro0012398 on

Indoor temperature does not match with wall controller and can’t change and no back up support to ask how to fix this problem Wall controller says indoor 22 app says indoor 20

Slow and clunky

AMR-nz on

This app urgently needs an overhaul. After spending hours trying to set it up I initially thought it wasn’t responding as it can take 3 or 4 minutes to action any request. I’ve now had it working for a few months but today it’s telling me there are no units connected and I can’t see how to reconnect it. Overall very poor.
