Final Cut Camera

This app is truly amazing after Blackmagic decided to make their camera useless. So happy that I have this app to replace Blackmagic with.

Started recording and things went well till I finished recording an hour later only to say that it failed to record to external drive, never been so annoyed.

It would be incredibly helpful if you could include a pause button, anti shake option when zooming in and out and an option to switch between the back camera and selfie camera while recording.

Occasional dropped frames at the start of video recordings makes me lose trust.

Wish there was a photo feature

When using stabilisation on the 24mm lens (iPhone 16 Pro Max) the app is unusable when zooming due to a glitch that appears in the recorded footage. All my recorded footage has gone in the bin and I’ve had to go back and re-record it with a different camera. I need smooth zoom for filming aeroplanes and cars for a sports YouTube channel. The bug is activated when zooming out past the 2x mark. When turning the stabilisation off the glitch is mostly gone but still slightly there when zooming past the 2x mark. Very disappointing given that is supposed to be a pro app and commissioned by apple that has had two updates that didn’t fix this issue. Having said that the zooming action with the thumb control is super smooth which is my favourite part. Also I find the settings (frame rate, resolution, HDR settings recording format) are super accessible. So I far prefer it to the stock apple camera app. Just iron out these zooming bugs and the app will be great. 3 stars for now. 5 when the bugs are fixed.

Apple still think the PAL standard is 25fps. Many people in PAL countries are shooting and outputting 50p. Well not with this app we’re not, because Apple won’t turn it on.

It seems everyone complains about clips not being automatically saved to the Photos. I think that’s great. Whoever makes even half professional videos knows that you need to repeat same takes many times until you get it right. So if I meet 5 clips for a reel I normally end up shooting about 20-30. I review them within the app and only save the ones I intend to use while trashing everything else. Great improvement to my workflow and saving space on my iPhone. Also really like the features of the camera. This app is great middle ground between simple all auto native camera and really advanced all pro-all manual apps like Blackmagic Cam. My go to app for running and gunning when I don’t feel like setting everything up manually (I use my professional gear for that anyway). Recommended.

This app does what the native iPhone camera app already does, nothing worthy of “PRO” name here. Absolute waste of time 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️
