Focus Hero: ADHD Motivation

I really loved the app, it was definitely motivational but after one day it said I have to pay to keep using it and I can't really pay for it. I wish there were more free options so that people like me can also use...but if you can pay the $30 a month than I definitely recommend.

I love having a game within time management/pomodoro especially as someone with ADHD! The one thing is I wish there were ways to list tasks to encourage you to get certain xp for the day to help make progress. Rn it seems very tempting for me to want to do whenever I feel like it which makes me worry about the subscription aspect and becoming a source of money I forget about. I love the animals and choose your own adventure aspects I have seen so far in the game! There is a ton of potential and I can't wait to see where it goes!

love this app, super helpful and nice to use :) especially for my adhd. has worked better than other task management apps — love that it has a story too!!

Still figuring the app out. But this is the only app I’ve found that appeals to “gamers” and translates irl tasks to in game character level up and loot. Pretty cool and does make you want to work on irl tasks. But the adventure mode and level runs where you fight monsters may turn into a bit of a time sink and turn the app counterproductive. Good thing the runs do require energy so you can’t just keep doing it all day. Optional stopwatch timer instead of count down is useful in focus mode.

The developer is too greedy, there is not enough content in the subscription level features to justify the price, how is the year of this tiny game costs the same as Baldurs Gate? Just lower the price, more people will buy it. After maybe three weeks of using the app with a year subscription there was nothing to do in the adventure mode except two impossible trials that just bring frustration instead of promised dopamine. The price for pets jumps too sleepily for this to be a viable motivation. Also, there are bugs and the “breathe release refocus” screen that keeps repeating that just make the app annoying and disrupt the workflow

As someone with ADHD it’s hard to find a balance between flow state and getting distracted. I just started focus hero and it seems like it has the right balance. It incentivizes you to focus

It’s really helpful for when I don’t want to do anything because sometimes I can talk myself into doing like 10 minutes of cleaning, and then I can use that to kickstart the rest of the cleaning

Definitely worth a shot to get into routine with the gamer mindset. I liked the old school zelda 2-bit vibe with the rpg elements. As the app calls for you need to focus and get your tasks done to level up. After just trying out the first level without upgrading the monsters are def tough and even if you try short cutting by increasing one stats you can’t continue without truly improving your character which goes back to focusing and completing your goals. If anything hit helps with momentum when you want to get work done but will still to take breaks to play phone games.

I never leave reviews, but I really want this app to succeed (and I want the developer to have more time to add to it lol) because it is the only app that has every actually helped me. It's not a pay to win, and it is a very cheap subscription. I see it as it costs 4 bucks a month for my wellbeing to improve, so no brainer.

I have just started using this app and I have really enjoyed it so far. One thing that would really help me would be able to see my stats displayed on a widget, so I can easily see my progress and achievements.
