Fontself - Make your own fonts

Absolutely love it

I love that I now have a font of my hand writing and how easy it was to write out each glyph, but there are issues. 1: the app is not intuitive for making corrections to the glyphs. I don’t know how to access that part of it. 2: the bottom line (the y and z) are not easily accessible. In trying to write the tail of the y, there wasn’t enough space with no way to scroll up to write it smoothly. 3: the in app tips when first using it isn’t completely clear and they disappear with a quick bump before getting to read and understand them fully. I came across mention of your app via a tutorial for something else and didn’t realise I would need to find specific tutorials just to learn how to use it. Other than the above so far, I do like the app.

You make a font and it says you can use it in other apps but it cost like 20 bucks. It’s so dumb. All you can do with your font is use it in in posters that the app makes that are like: Smile :) Absolutely a waste of time.

I absolutely love how easy this app is to use and how quickly I can get font designs onto my Mac and into my presentations. My one suggestion would be to allow users to make single line fonts.

I have just bought this app and I am loving it. I tried computer apps before but gave up because I couldn’t get it right. The variety of ways to help you get your letters the way you want is fantastic. Also the team were amazing and got back to me quickly to help with my enquiry.

I'm loving this app. I had tried making fonts years ago when it required a piece of paper with a grid on which the alphabet was drawn, which was subsequently scanned and digitised. But this is really amazing! I’ve made fonts by drawing with my finger, and others using the control afforded by the Apple Pencil. It is heaps of fun, and I love being able to use my own typeface on notices and greetings.

I’m so so glad that the Fontself app exists. I don’t have/use photoshop or illustrator so I can’t use the Fontself extensions for them and other font creation software is cumbersome to use, outrageously expensive (at least for what I want) or both. With Fontself drawing out font characters feels intuitive and the tools as well as the interface are easy to grasp. You can preview your font including character and word spacing as you create it, copy across whole characters or parts of them to save time when drawing others, auto-smooth drawn lines, and fine tune your characters as they are vector drawings (won’t be pixelated and can have points repositioned).

I find the app easy to use and really enjoy making new ones. I’m looking forward to more developments.

Easy to use. Exports to Procreate etc. Intuitive interface. Great value for money. My sleep has significantly reduced since purchasing this because I cannot stop making fonts! Definitely a new favourite app. If you’re on the fence about purchasing, let me help you . . . Buy it. You won’t have any regrets. It is brilliant.
