Best app for creating fonts in iPad
Paied the fee a month ago and i already have 11 new typos. Loving it congrats to the team!
I’m loving it! I created a font in one hour to use on the posts for my page Portuguesices! Just drew all the characters and exported directly to Procreate. Simple and easy! Some improvement suggestions: - to use a custom font created on the app as reference to create other variation, bold, thin, italic. - a paint bucket tool to fill the shapes - a pen tool to draw and edit shapes with vertices
I love font self so much! I have both desktop versions too. This one is especially helpful as I can easily draw my letters right on the iPad. The team is very responsive and helpful. I've already made money from 3 fonts made with this app!
Best app to make fonts! If you’re trying to make multilingual fonts, this is the definitive choice. Although other app promise multilingual support, this is the first app that not only lets me add specific letters (áàãǎ, etc), but also the punctuation for other languages.
As someone who does a lot of graphic design and illustration I’ve always wanted to make fonts. Free font builders don’t scratch that specific itch for me most of the times and other tools are prohibitively expensive. Fontself for the iPad is literally a game changer for people starting out, or veterans. They’re always adding new features and the devs are very responsive. Best 20 bucks I’ve ever spent. I might even grab the illustrator plugin to play around with its expanded feature set!
This app is intuitive and so great that I fell in love just after using it! Though some precision tools like bezier would make it unbeatable, still this is quite impressive what it’s capable of in iPad. For someone like me, who cares about creating a well detailed typeface in desktop programs can take leverage of this app to start from scratch and take it further in desktop apps.
The fun pack is a one time purchase, but not being able to export fonts without it made me only give one star. Also let me add in my own glyph ranges. Answer: they can get a job, preferably with a good salary. At least make the prices of the fun pack cheaper. I’s also like it if I could use my own glyph ranges. Answer 2: at least lower the prices and make it affordable and available to anyone who wants to make a Font with Fontself.
Why is this font making app asking me to Sign Up With Apple? I can’t even do that if I wanted to. I’m always signed in on iPad. Does this mean I need to have iCloud turned on to use this app? Please tell me that’s not the case. It never mentioned that in the description. I read it all. Why can i not just open the app and use it? I paid good money for this program. Why should I need to sign in with anything or have iCloud turned on possibly? This is so unbelievably frustrating. I can’t believe this. Why does a font creators need me to sign in at all. This is ridiculous. Looks like I’ll just have to stick with the original iOS font creator application iFontmaker. I am so annoyed I bought this app forever ago and just now got around to using it. Only to find out that I cannot even get into the program. It says “Sign Up with Apple” but does not let me sign into my Apple account. It just says “Settings.” I click that and, of course, I’m already signed into my Apple account like always. Which can only mean, like I said, that this app ridiculously demands that I have iCloud turned on. I don’t use iCloud. I have real and reasonably priced cloud services such as Dropbox and Box. There’s no reason for me to ever have iCloud turned on. Why would you not just offer an option to get into the app for folks who don’t use iCloud. I feel so ripped off right now. I paid good money for this application and I even just saw whatever the “FUN Pack” was and was even considering buying the IAP when I got into the app. Even on top of what I paid to buy this app to begin with. But i cannot do anything because I’m forced to sign into iCloud or some madness. Why can you not just let me use the app I paid for please?????? This is ridiculous and maddening. iFontmaker does not ask me to sign anything. I open that app and I’m right into creating and exporting my own hand created fonts into whatever I want to use them in. Would you please update this app very soon so that those of us who choose to not use iCloud can please just use this program that we paid for? Thank you if you would. I cannot tell you how much I was looking forward to finally having another font creation tool on my iPad. Now I’m just seriously bummed out and ticked off like no other. This is ridiculous. Just let me into the app to use what I bought please! I’ll never understand thoughtless oversights like this. Just because some people use iCloud does not in any way shape or form mean that everyone does who owns an i
This has been the best tool for the iPad I’ve use for font making. It’s incredibly easy to use and there are many different brush options available including pressure that help you to get your perfect font design. I few suggestions I would like to add.. the grid lines would be better suited in my opinion with horizontal lines instead of dots. Or at least add the option for one or the other. Another I would like to suggest is an opacity option and maybe even different colors so that you can trace over previous brush strokes without getting confused. I think this would make script font a lot easier to put together.
