I didn’t put 1 star as the app itself could be good, but the paywall is not.
The ‘official’ bionic reading app lacked an option to scan text, which this app had hence why I downloaded. However, the free trial only allows you to convert typed or pasted text to the bionic style three times and doesn’t let you try any other methods like converting a document or scan.
If it was a one time payment I would consider buying, but the only two options are around £6 a WEEK or a yearly subscription which is roughly 50-60p a week… so obviously I’m not going to pay a ridiculous weekly fee for something I can’t even try beforehand.
If there was a trial for all input methods, the text conversion was free, and the payment was monthly or had an option for a one time payment then I’d potentially get it.
Reading
This has 100% helped my reading, as a dyslexic person it can be very hard to read text at speed but I found this did help a lot.
Disappointing
Pretty useless; it wouldn’t allow me to convert pdf’s to trial before buying. Websites weren’t “converted” they were formatted in a bizarre way with giant text and graphics. If it had worked remotely I’d have invested because it’s a good concept, but it’s not cheap and it doesn’t actually work.
Expensive!
And the prices are unreasonable. Consider the amount of people looking into bionic reading after that tiktok video went viral - you could make a LOT more money by reducing your fees.
Fast Reading
I saw this hype frım TikTok and download it. After convert and reading a few texts, I couldn’t believe my eyes, my reading speed really increased with Bionic Reading Style!
Couldn’t trial the app
The app seems to require a payment with no trial option. Tried copy/ pasting some text but the app wouldn’t save the text so wasn’t able to convert to bionic reading font to try it out. Disappointed
Will not load
If I copy and paste the text or insert the link, the app doesn’t loads the entire text copied or the whole text from the website.
