Don't know why but doesn't work for me

Works great to cast Apple Watch to IPad Kinomap app.

I tried the other well-known heart rate broadcast apps on the AppStore and this one does everything the other apps do for a fraction of the other excruciatingly expensive apps (note: this app is even free if you don’t care to support the developer which I did as it’s a regular app price as opposed to the others which admittedly have nicer interfaces but ask for a very high price for a simple HR transmitter for what seems to be no reason other than they are more popular and follow the Peloton craze). In fact, I have tested all 3 apps one after the other on the same run I do regularly on my Ifit elliptical (Nordicktrack FS9I) and these 3 broadcast apps all suffer from the same issues: slow broadcast update speeds and slow initial connection (although this could be my machine slow Bluetooth connections). I would give this app 5 stars if it could improve the heart rate update and transmission speed a little bit even if I realize that this slow update speed (common to all HR broadcast apps) may have something to do with iOS on my series 6 Apple watch with iPhone 13 pro. Anyways, good work from the developer. Recommended.

Edit: I feel like as soon as I submitted this review Peloton has added Apple Watch heart rate tracking to their app. Review still stands for the most part. Thank you again for over a year of support, for myself, where Peloton fell short. HeartCast can be finicky at times, but that is to be expected. It provides functionality that Peloton has artificially restricted and does it well. I’ve used this for a few months on my bike and has been working great. The other day I was doing a workout through my iPad with just a normal Apple Watch workout going when I thought “Hmm, could I connect HeartCast to the iPad”? To my surprise, it worked perfectly. Thanks for continuing to support the app!

Giving it 3 stars because it only works if you force the bike to forget your Bluetooth connection and reconnect everytime you get back on the bike. Otherwise it doesn’t work.

Sometimes works well but other times it won’t start reading my heart rate on my Apple Watch. Keeps loading, says it can’t read heart rate data even after closing and opening the app on my watch and phone multiple times. Never a smooth process. Some days it’s never connects with my phone and I have to give up.

The app won’t stay connected for more than 5 seconds. Don’t waste your time with this.

This app doesn’t work.

This seriously needs to be removed from the App Store. It doesn’t work, distracts from your workout. It’s buggy as hell, and if you are lucky will connect for 2 seconds to only disconnect you. Avoid!!!!!!
