HP Prime Lite

The arrow navigation key lags a lot, you have to press it multiple times before it register and moves around. Specially when I input a long equation and make a mistake somewhere it’s a nightmare to move around to that variable and correct it. Im using iPhone 13 pro.

I have the real HP Prime, which is just astoundingly good at all the things I needed at undergrad Math, Physics, and Electronic engineering. The FREE apps for iPhone and iPad are almost as good as the real thing, and outshine every other graphing calculator app. Of course, they all have steep learning curves, and when you’ve learnt one it’s natural to prefer it... However, the free iPad version of this HP Prime app in April 2021 has a bug - it won’t graph simple functions. Just try it with an x squared function and be amazed at the horizontal graph line instead of a curve! Bizarre, because the iPhone version graphs properly. Thanks, HP, I’ll keep using the iPhone version with my little finger and extra reading glasses until you can fix the iPad version!

Frustrating that it has bars on the sides which shrink it on modern iPhones. It also crashes way too often. Once these are fixed I’ll pay for pro, and finally replace my trusty 48GX. But even as is, truly amazing value for money.

This is an amazing graphing calculator and I own the real thing too. However this app crashes on my iPhone 7 Plus. Most noticeably when doing advanced graphs for me. Easy 5 stars if fixed.

Like others have said, this app needs to be updated to allow it to be zoomed in (permanently). There is wasted space all around the edge, causing the buttons to be smaller than they need to be.

Update the app, please. Among other changes and updates, this needs support for modern iPhones and iPads. This app needs some attention. What a joke.

I gave the lite version a try and like the features. Heck, I’d gladly pay for the pro version. The one thing keeping me from getting the pro version are the huge blank spaces all the way around the interface. For now I’ll stay with the 48G app.

Make the app customizable!! Great calc though!

The calculator app is very nice to have in my pocket as a decent RPN calculator with all of the CAS features, etc. I wish that the calculator would be updated with a taller resolution with smaller margins on the sides as the iPhone XS resolution better matches the dimensions of the HP Prime. The zoom-out animation at app-boot-up shows off what it could look like. I feel that the keys could be bigger and easier to use because of this too.

This is a great app, I love the RPN mode. Once you go RPN you will never go back. I just wish the app had optional skins and layout profiles for the keys. I want all the new features and functionality, I just wish the layout and color scheme could mimic the old 48G. I still have my 48G and I tell my kids that have to use the super fancy new TI Graphic Calc for school that “some day you will get a real calculator, like an HP, that can do RPN”.
