I’ve been using iCab mobile on my iPads and iPhones for over a decade, and have found it to be fast, secure, and robust. Like every single other web browser out there, it faces issues with client-side JavaScript frameworks, bugs, changes with web standards, and poorly designed sites but the author, Alexander, has always never been more than an email away, and I have seen my reported issues solved within days. This product is my mainstay for my mobile platforms.
An impressive browser. It had ad blocking, passwords and save as PDF years before any other iOS browser. Standout features for me that I haven’t seen in another browser are: full-screen view, I can customise everything, one tap to open a tab in the background. I see I’ve been using this since 2012.
I am sick of Safari. It’s been reloading background pages all the time. I couldn’t compare two things since the page would just reload. Not the best looking browser but does the job!
Super customisable, this is the best mobile web browser I’ve found.
This is THE COMPANION web browser. It’s the perfect compliment to iOS Safari. Whereas safari is stripped down, simplified and the perfect app in terms of day-to-Day usability, iCab is THE WEB BROWSER with every single accessory and option you could ever hope to need. These options include integration with: - password managers - firefox - and another 25+ features. Personally, my most commonly used features include the ability to use the browser either in mobile or desktop form. It can be set to work in the form of any of the major browsers. So it can easily get around annoying mobile website restrictions. Next, is its ability to simply download any kind of file, such as audio and video. Once downloaded you can easily transfer to your preferred music or video or file app - ie. FileBrowser (another essential app). The only feature it doesn’t include is Flash video processing. If your after that then use Penguin browser. Otherwise this is THE ONLY complimentary web browser you’ll ever need. Plus the developers are constantly updating this app. Just like FileBrowser, this is an exceptional, high quality and important part of any uses core library of essential Day-to-Day apps. I promise you, you won’t be disappointed.
The current version is very buggy and crashes every 5 mins.
iCab Mobile is a fantastic mobile browser. It is secure, enables privacy, and is extremely customisable. It is really worth having on your iPad.
Was working fine until switching to os7 and updating the app. Now wont start anymore. Please make older versions available for download. Removing and reinstalling the app seems to work. Although lost all bookmarks
It appears the ability to download videos to play offline has been removed. This was the only reason I bought it - now a waste.
Latest version allows excellent uploading to forums etc. This is a great product. Well done. Has increased the usefulness of my iPad.
