IDW Digital Comics Experience

Absolutely love the comics but the app is complete garbage, sort it out lads

Used to use this a few years back. Re-download it and unless you only want comics on the home page, it’s pointless. The search page doesn’t work at all… can’t get old comics. I’m sorry but im not in the mood to read my little pony, sonic or tmnt (the main 3 titles in the store page). Does IDW cater exclusively to furries? No judgement but it ain’t my thing. Even the store page options are limited knowing what a great range IDW produces. I literally download the app with the intent on buying a good Chunk of a series, Guess I’ll spend my money somewhere else. Or spend more and get the actual comics second hand.

Paid for multiple comic volumes and I can’t access any of them. So the app essentially just stole my money and won’t give me what I paid for. Don’t waste your time or money with this app

IDW books usually cost quite a bit, and the prices of the collected editions on the app was very appealing to me. After having the app for about a month, I decided to download some TMNT titles. Reading the books on the app is not exactly ideal. You can’t tilt your device (I use my iPad) because the book your reading won’t flip. It can be annoying especially with double page layouts. Also there is NO option to read your purchased book anywhere else. If you’re expected to pay full price for a book in digital form, I should have the ability to read it through another app. At the very least be given some sort of download code so I can read it without having to rely on the app. What happens if IDW go outta business or lose a license for a book? Will I lose my purchase forever. Basically I’m paying money, albeit not that much so far, for something I may not have access to should the company run in to trouble. I paid for the book, I should therefore be able to own the book. I’ve essentially paid to be allowed to read something at that’s it. I guess I learnt my lesson so will buy their books elsewhere from now on.

First experience of this app, bought a new book to read on a long train journey only to discover too late that my purchase did not actually download and there appears to be no way to read offline. Deeply disappointing, not fit for purpose, unlikely to buy anything from IDW again.

ok so i am FUMING with this app coz i had to rebuy a sonic series for 9.99 quid AGAIN whats more it was in the middle that it kicked me off and had to re buy turns out it was actually pretty good comic i did enjoy it but please. Maybe turn down a knotch on the whole ‘i want money scheme’ beacause one comic of tangke and whisper costs £2 when i can just go onto readalllcomics. Seriously go onto readallcomics thay have all these and more! So if this app gets a grip then ill re write this into a good reveiw and i will be sure alot of people will to!!

After all the time and money invested in my digital comics, this app is just plain rubbish. It has put me off IDW as a company and their products. IDW if you cannot fix this app; then please send me all my comics as physical items to my home.

I HAD to download this since the transformers IDW app was not working anymore. This is trash, it doesn’t save where you were in a comic, rarely loads on anything but a fast broadband. This needs a lot of updates to fix this mess

This probably omega (not beta) prototype. Tried to send feedback through the app, you only get one feedback, survey monkey thinks that's it. 1. Reading comics is terrible. It's essentially a PDF reader, but a very poor one. Unreliable zoom, flicking the page takes you to begging. Old app had a frame by frame zoom – what is now is useless. 2. Free comics - you have to find them and reload them every time 3. No landscape view on iPhone Whole app is like a throwback to first apps 10 years ago (a web page poorly wrapped as an app). Until some serious updates - AVOID this app

So downloaded the new app transferred all my comics and sadly the app isn’t even half what the old one was. You can’t rotate the screen, it won’t save your place, changing pages is more difficult and unresponsive and zoom function has disappeared. I don’t understand how this is an improvement? I’m gutted as I have a load of comics and well they are unreadable. Please sore this app out otherwise I wasted a load of money on unreadable comics🙁
