IFS Guide

I have only used the guided meditation feature so far (without the AI), but it’s clear even just from those that the app was designed by people who are really skilled at using IFS. I often get overwhelmed when trying to do parts work on my own, and even just the default guided prompts are really helpful to adjusting to extreme emotions and sensations. Unfortunately, the reminder feature, which seems like it would be really useful, doesn’t work at all for me. When I try to set reminders to check in with specific parts, I can’t even change the suggested time to the time I want (it invariably gets set to 24 hours later, so if I’m trying to set the reminder when using the app on Thursday at 10 AM, the reminder will only be able to be set for Friday at 10 AM). But the issue with the timing doesn’t even ultimately matter because the reminder never saves. When I hit Save, there’s a spinning icon like something is loading, but the reminder never actually gets set. It just stays at the spinning loading icon indefinitely.

The guidance from Pepe is very intuitive and feels like talking to a real therapist. Being able to have a humorous summary given each time is an extra treat. This is my favorite part of the app… Talking to Pepe.

Simply blown away by the supportive impact of this app. It feels like I just spent an hour with my therapist. And now I can’t wait to tell my therapist!

If you do IFS, this will turbo charge your sessions. I had a massive breakthrough in the last hour. I drew on previous experience with IFS. But this is now my go to way of processing life. It is so powerful. This is life changing and world changing.

Changing my review after using the app for a month. When I first started using the app, I was absolutely in love with it. Chatting with my parts (on my own), creating a Parts map, and journaling were all beyond helpful. But that's the caveat. Everything that was self-led was the most helpful part of the app. The best feature, especially the interface, is having the ability to "text message" your parts. In fact, I used this feature more than have Pepe there because frankly, Pepe asks the same questions over and over again. I brought this issue up in the community and was told that you have to "guide the AI by asking questions" in order for Pepe to ask you helpful questions. The thing is, if you aren't familiar with IFS, how do you know what questions to ask?? And I feel like, for an app that you're paying over +$100 a year, you shouldn't be expected to essentially hold the AI's hand to help you to get care. But my biggest problem is how misleading their Features page is. I didn't get much value out of the AI sessions, but I did want to continue to use the "chats with parts (without AI)" messaging system and was glad to see that unlimited messages to parts was included in the free membership. But apparently, that's not true. I went to log in and it said I ran out of messages on the free plan. Contacted support and they said "the messages are unlimited within sessions but there are a limited number of sessions you can open on a free trial". Basically, each session is a new thread. So you can't open new threads after ending a trial. It's hard to explain without using the app yourself, but you do not have unlimited messages as implied, and the Features page is very misleading. Beyond that, the app is lacking in value in many ways. The community is very quiet and when someone posts questions or simply to talk, it's rare that anyone responds. If they do, it's max one or two comments. There's hardly any engagement from the developer, aside from the promotional posts that are from IFS Guide themselves that is just selling IFS training for over $50 each. Beyond that, the app is riddled with bugs. My two week trial was extended to be over one month long because of how many glitches and crashes were happening in the app during my time using it. When trying to upload images into the community, the feature doesn't work. The app crashed frequently. Great app but keeps crashing

The app crashes as soon as I open it. I’ve removed and then downloaded it again but have the same issue. I’d love to have the app and use it so if there is a fix to this, please let me know.

I have noticed this app is not very accessible with a screen reader. One of the features that used to have a button so it could be used by a screen Reader is no longer able to be used. This is disappointing because I have a part that specifically speaks to me through images, and I can’t give it attention if I can’t upload the image to work with it. If this could be fixed, that would be great. I use voiceover.

I did not expect this, but it is so dynamic and responsive and lets me choose options, it feels very helpful!
