Grammar is super fine to understand thank you team

It’s best to use this app with the companion app Kana which teaches the Japanese writing system in detail and builds the bedrock for learning the language like a native. Hats off to the developers for building this extraordinary resource completely free so that knowledge seekers can learn right off the bat without any micro transactions that plague most apps today. Absolute awesomeness.

Much better approach than many books!

I was learning Japanese on Duolingo and it seemed to be taking an inordinately long time. Then I found this app. It is amazing! It teaches you Japanese not like an English speaker thinks, but as a native Japanese speaker thinks, which was just what I wanted! Thank you Tae Kim for a great app!

I have been studying Japanese for 13 years. I discovered Tae Kim’s guide several years ago and it changed my life. I bought the next version, but was upset when the app was removed from the App Store because I couldn’t recommend it to friends and students anymore… however, I just found this app, a new Tae Kim app! And I couldn’t be happier. Now when students ask me for recommendations of apps to use, I can recommend the greatest Japanese resource that exists for English speakers. This guide is a MUST HAVE for beginners. Throw everything else away!!!
