Lemonade Insurance

Recently I had my car stolen from me and it was a very traumatic experience for me but with lemonade I was able to get my car back in a few days because of the tracker. I am able to go to college now and thank you Paul for your help !!! And because of the damages that I had I was able to get some of money, paid for towing ( I didn’t have before because I was paying almost 200 a month for car insurance at another company but it had no towing at all and barely had basic repairs) and was able to reimburse me for my things that I had to pay for like keys , new license plate etc but in my opinion you should choose lemonade instead of other insurance companies I felt valued more at lemonade then at other insurance companies!! Thank you lemonade I can go to college now with my car now i thought I wasn’t going to be able to do it it’s a relief to have a company help me as much as they did !!

I have been using car insurance through lemonade called metromile for 5 years. They recently switched to the lemonade app and no longer show where your car is located within the app. This was a very useful tool for street parking, sharing a car with your partner, forgetting where you parked, or checking on your car when out of town. I wish they would bring this back since they have the information already, using it to track the number of miles driven.

I was with metromile, which was acquired by Lemonade. I have my car for recreational use only so I only drive it a few times a year. When I was with Metromile, they usually grant me a 3 month of grace period as I rarely drive. During the grace period, no matter I drive or not, they don’t bother me. Now with Lemonade, they only gives me 1 month grace period. Even so, during my grace period, if ever use the car, the grace period is gone, and I would be harassed by their emails telling me that the tracker is offline and I have to drive my car. If not, I would be penalized. The point of getting an car insurance that charge based on mileage is because I don’t usually drive. Now, every week, they would ask me to drive my car around neighborhood for at least 10 minutes for no reason. The app offer very little information. I don’t even get to see my insurance policy on the app.

Lemonade aggressively took over Metromile and everything went downhill. Customer service, app capabilities. Plus, after 45 years of perfect driving record, I get my first infraction and they canceled me. Bunch of barracudas like the System.

I like lemonade. It is affordable and allows me to edit the coverage to my needs. I get to see how changes effect my premiums.

Quality got significantly worse after Lemonade acquisition of Metromile. Had a repair for going for something I wasn’t at fault for and Metromile limits me to 30d rental coverage. The body shop asked for approval on supplemental work they need. Metromile didn’t respond for two weeks. Both the shop and I called in to expedite, to no avail. Result: the repair is delayed past the 30d rental coverage cause the body shop is frozen on work till approved. Metromile refused to cover the extra rental days over 30 because it’s their “policy.” The whole cause of the delay and going over 30 days was their own slow service and incompetence, but I have to pay out of pocket for it Switch insurance like I did if you don’t want to be treated like this

The rating of 4.9 is just so fake. Even for the best in the world insurance company it’s absolutely impossible to have so high rating. Insuring is a complicated business, always lot of people with issues. It just shows how fake they are. 1) I’ve been a Metromile customer, had to cancel long time ago. My bad. When I was rear backed- they gave just laughable estimate and then sent a cheque for the amount that barely covers 10% of the repair cost. And I didnt ask for the cheque - they just sent it. 2) Lemonade is online first company, right ? Try to contact their customer support - no live agent, they will just send you a some vague response over email. 3) This month they billed for almost 2x amount that I had a year ago. Same car, same drivers , about same mileage. Outrageous.

Recently learned my cat has asthma, so decided “cool easy way to get my pet’s insurance and a little help with medication.” Wrong! They literally help cover nothing - not even a cent! You might as well just pay the prices than waste $30/month on your pet here. Nothing will get covered!!!
