We all form attachments with one another in whatever way seems right to us. But we aren't given much guidance, and many of us haven't learned from the best of examples...
1 in 5 adults have this pattern in their relationships. It stems from things rooted in our past, often in childhood. Yet, it seems to take control of our adult relationships.
Anxious attachment causes us to obsess over whether someone wants us, is texting us, or is just thinking about us. And when they don’t? We resent them and withdraw. And the negative feelings take over, leaving us paralyzed and unable to function in life.
All of these dynamics happen without us fully knowing that they are going on. But we can learn to anticipate them. We can spot them as we feel them coming on. And we can grow and heal from these experiences.
