Luminar Mobile Photo Editor

Just cancelled my free trial way before it expired. The app has some nice perks (e.g. some friendly adjustment controls, a couple of useful detailing options) However, I find it extremely annoying to use. Many of its “features” are really suboptimal. Here is a detailed list of some of the issues I’ve found. 1) it is a pain to browse pictures on it. Just awful to find what you are looking for and even worse: to resume working on an existing project. 2) it does not respect the “limed access to pictures” setting on iOS, basically displaying them all within the app (and presumably accessing them all despite having the restriction enabled) 3) as you edit a picture, it becomes increasingly hard to go back to a previous stage. It almost forces you to start over if you are trying to compare different results 4) their AI tool to delete unwanted objects is just bad. It replaces the removed object with stuff around it that makes no sense at all 5) the “add sky” feature looks super fake and overwrites many of the edits you have done before adding it. 6) not only does it access your pictures, it actually browses files in your entire phone :/ and even your cloud if you let it. This is really not necessary and there does not seem to be a way to limit this access 7) I was willing to pay for a friendly and effective photo editing tool. The prices for this one are not justified

My photos are looking like Pro with Luminar Neo. Favorite feature is the sky replacement. Please add more options. And it has a dedicated app for Apple Vision Pro. The only powerful editing app for it. There are some bugs where it can get slow and devices can get hot. Hopefully these issues will get fixed in future updates. Keep up the great work and making the app affordable

I fiddled with the app before purchasing because I got some good results going export until paying though. Honestly worth can export jpg, heif, png, tiff It’s easy to enhance your photos and fine tune a lot. But it’s easy to use. I bought a lifetime on sale and I don’t regret it. Compared to some photos I adjust with iOS photo app and it’s not even the same league.

Needs a colour picker and selected edits please

So easy to use, clean UI and powerful with many great features. And you get the option to subscribe or purchase the app. Keep refining the app dev team. We needed that for the Apple Vision Pro.

This photo editor works very well but it lacks one major feature for me which is copying the edits for quick paste the edits on similar shots, or create your own preset from the edits, then apply it to other similar shots, that’s the only reason I am canceling the 7 days trial and won’t buy it.

The target market here is clearly people who do not have or use the desktop app, this is a great stand alone app but it lacks enough features that the desktop has to make it hard to justify using even though its really a nice and fun modern UI to use. I would like to at least see an auto white balance tool. Also WHERE are my files Saving when I do a large export? They are visible in the app but not in the iPad file editor so I don’t see how I can do anything with the files like open them in another app to continue the editing process?

Even though I signed up for the 7 Day trial and cancelled right away before I forgot.. I was charged!!

I was taken aback at how slow the AI functions are. The speed is so low that I was wondering if anything was going on as I was moving the sliders. For the record I am using a brand new iPad Pro M4. I am currently using Lightroom and its AI functions are running super-fast. Also, and this is not a negative comment but a fact, this app is built to handle a photo-by-photo workflow meaning that you cannot copy adjustments from one photo to another. Using this app to process a 200-photos photo shoot is just unthinkable for me. I will be keeping an eye on this app as it evolves.
