Turn your iPhone or iPad into an outdoor GPS or marine chart plotter, with the detailed Topo maps or NOAA marine charts needed for your activity. Maps are stored on the device for offline use, when you don't have any network connection. The GPS will show your location even where you have no mobile phone signal.
The app can be used standalone, but the maps and overlay data may also be used on your home PC or Mac for planning, and for printing maps on paper. Then upload everything to your phone or tablet and enjoy navigating outdoors with high quality maps.
When you get home you can transfer your tracklog and points of interest back onto your computer, to see where you actually went, analyze your speed and elevation profile, and so on.

Wipes maps
It wipes maps on apple, I lost a map that’s worth close to £100, it just disappeared as I was using it. The person who makes the map in question updates them regularly so you have to buy the map again, there’s no way to reinstate it as it wipes it off the app

Been using it almost daily for years and never had any serious problems.
Outstanding quality.
The ability to have a mobile copy of my 1:25000 maps in my pocket is fantastic. I plan trips on the big paper maps, old fashioned I know but old habits die hard! I transfer all my waypoints to my digital map and head off knowing I have a dependable accurate map to guide me. I love paper maps and have hundreds of them but nothing can touch memory map for portable convenience.

But really annoying that it doesn’t default to activating new sections of map from types of maps where i have plenty of area available in my account
No heading rotation
It’s ok but really annoying that it’s north only and the map won’t rotate to follow a heading.
Excellent app
This has been my favourite map app for years and years. Love the OS data and be able to go back and remember walks that I've done, with all the detail of terrain and landmarks that comes with Ordnance Survey maps. Wrote the above eight years ago – still true! Update: Still 5 stars at 12 years’ usage… and at 14 years!
