Last year (2023) I would have given one star but this year was a very clean and fast experience. Scan photo ID, take a short selfie video and enter address and date of birth etc. All completed in a couple of minutes. I should add last year I used the app from Australia and this year I was in Europe. Perhaps that made a difference.
This app seems to have improved this year - I had no problems as previous times I tried to use it.
I live in Australia. It took 5 minutes to follow the directions. So easy and far better than filling out forms, copying documents and sending through postal service. Biggest problem was finding a nickname that wasn’t already in use.
Got as far as the photo of ID on my iPhone and was just left with a blank screen and unresponsive app. Tried on iPad. It really struggled with my Queensland driving license but got it eventually. After the selfie it said it failed to verify but no reason why but offered to try again. Tried British Passport and that was quicker. After the selfie there was a quick flash of a message about a comms error with server and it just locked up again. Has anybody tested the failure modes of this app? I think not. Never seen anything so amateurish before.
A poor experience that I am unlikely to use again. I am in Australia and it insisted on a 8 digit card number for my driving licence even though it already had the 9 digit number.
App is hanging whilst taking “a few seconds to verify identity”. I don’t like having to supply personal information to a privately supplied app without assurances around security and more information about who they are verifying my identity with.
It did't work with my first two attempts, I don't know why. Then I turned off my VPN and everything loaded correctly and I had no problems. Found it pretty good.
I wouldn’t even give this rubbish one star. It is unbelievable trash and deserves to be part of the 19th Century. Was hoping to set this up to avoid the annual snail mail id trail to/from Australia but after 4 attempts I had to give up. Thought PIC were better than this.
This app is truly appalling. It has great difficulty recognising Australia and when asking for manual input it is clunky in the extreme. Did anyone perform proper user acceptance testing before release as a live app! If any of my former staff had produced such an abomination they would be ex-staff.
Awful app that I was forced to download and use to verify my existence. Went all the way through the biometric process before the app reported an error and didn’t specify what it was. Advised me to contact their help email. Rubbish, hope too many others have to through this painful process.
