My sleep saviour for years!
I’ve been using this app for years now and have found it nearly always helps me get to sleep. Nothing works quite like it, I turn it on and usually am asleep within minutes.
The UI is a little dated now, as it hasn’t really changed at all since the all launched, many many moons ago.
The packs, if anyone is wondering as it really isn’t clear from the app itself, add more words or scenes. So if you don’t pay, you’d probably notice the same set of words or scenes again and again. While, if you pay, you will only very rarely hear repetitions.
Russian support
Any plans to support Russian? It’s hard to imagine some works I don’t know the meaning of :)
Great app, great support
Perfect for counteracting my insomnia. It’s only ever failed to send me to sleep a couple of times, and that was when I was under extreme stress.
Recently there was a problem causing the app to lose your purchases, stopping it from working completely. But the developers worked to fix it and kept their customers informed. Good old fashioned service makes a nice change. Thanks!
Incredible, but could use a refresh
I’ve found falling asleep hard my whole life, and have come to rely on an assortment of sleeping pills. But this seems to do the trick magnificently! And take my mind off things. However, the app itself could use a refresh, and the initial collection of visualisation is ultimately quite limited – I’m sure I will soon bore of them. This said, the price of the individual packs is quite a jump for a ‘free’ app. I would have been happy to buy the app outright if it had a fresher design and more content.
Rubbish
It kept me awake
Amazing
Worked like a dream the first time when downloaded during a usual restless night.
Brilliant. Thank you
This app is absolutely fantastic. I’m always asleep in no time. Odd and slightly surreal, but it never fails. Only giving 4 stars as I’m often getting a crackle with the voice recently, some kind of sound glitch. Otherwise it’s great. I actually find the americanisms even more soporific than if the voice were more familiar to me.
Disturbing little app
I'm still awake at 4.30am because of this app. Who thought it was a good idea to include 'ivory' and 'crocodile' among words in a sleep app? And, as a vegetarian, I found the inclusion of 'a steak' and 'bacon and eggs' unpleasant. It is also highly Americanised; terms such as 'ball park' and many others jar the brain rather than relax it. Not really thought through.
A bit sceptical at first
But highly effective ...works 95% of the time for me and the time it does not work I readjust the time and frequency.
Too North American to work for me
The science may be right. And the Canadian speaker has a nice voice, which is often not the case in sleep and meditation apps. But although I am no benighted islander (from UK), having worked abroad, and with friends of many nationalities, this doesn't work for me because it is talking to people from North America and not to me.
I know what a sidewalk and a ballpark are of course, but being asked to imagine them jerks my brain into focused attention. Imagining making a home run or messing about with a basketball on the way to school have the same effect - not things you do here and being told to think about them wakes my brain up. I didn't know what a snow angel was until I looked it up. I also found myself wondering at one point what a fairy boat was, until I realised I was just stupidly misinterpreting the accent. (I do have Canadian friends!)
It would be great if someone else could take the science and make a British version of this app, though it would need a speaker with a nice gentle voice like the one here. British sleep/meditation gurus often seem to be a bit loud and penetrating.
