National Car Rental

Way too overrated…must be fake reviews. Bad customer service, trash app and dirty cars in my experience

This app makes a horrible combination with a company it controlled iPhone. Nothing but constant problems, and extremely difficult to get someone who can figure out how to help. My corporate credit card had to be renewed due to expiration date, and it took a year and a half for me to get someone who could finally help me make my app work again. Now, with China hacking everyone in the US so hardcore and all the it/ information security departments freaking out and triggering more verifications and security measures, once again can’t access my account via the app because my phone has never seen me before and has never logged into this app before, and none of my emails from my extensive history with National car rental have my account number on them. I did finally gain access, but this app needs to do something differently. I use a lot of apps and there are some that are just problematic, and there are some that are usually not. This is one of the apps that is extremely problematic.

Can’t get the latest version to run on my iPhone 16 pro max running iOS 18.1.1.

As a very long time (stupidly) loyal business traveler to National, it’s very frustrating that National likes to dangle “rewards” to customers who give a lot of business to them, with “free” days. For years now, National has obviously intentionally made it impossible to redeem these free days in booking reservations through the app, even when the customer clicks the “redeem days” button. The customer unknowingly but internationally being deceived by National that they are not redeem their free days, but instead their default credit card is charged. Shame on you National for acting in such a devious manner to your most loyal customers!

The signup process won’t complete. When it fails it throws everything away and you get to start again. Can’t enter a credit card. Back to Hertz. Bye Bye National.

it says you have to add a CC on file to complete profile registration. i tried two cards, one of which it says it “fails to authenticate” and the other is just sits and spins. yes i closed and opened the app and retried. nothing changed. womp womp

Who decided to rename the full size class to Premium? A Malibu is NOT a premium car. The level of disappointment when I arrived was immense. Call a spade a spade National. This type of false advertising will just drive away loyal customers

App continuously freezes then immediately closes. Running most current IOS & updated app version..

Apparently there is no way to save a trip booked through a 3rd party. I book through Capital One Travel for rewards but every other car rental app allows me to save my trip info. I can look it up just fine, but what’s the point if I cannot save it? Lesson learned, I’ll rent from Hertz or Enterprise next time.

Have trip coming up next week. Made reservation more than a month ago. Worked fine then. App isn’t functioning at all. Starts, locks, closes. Seems to be months broken for quite some Time based on reviews. Are you guys going to fix it?
