Provident Bank

Simple and direct.

I have been with Provident Bank for a quick a few years. The company I used to work for used to jump around banks that they were using to do direct deposits for a checks. If you’ve got a paper check and didn’t have an account, they would charge an enormous amount to catch the check even though they were making a lot of money processing paychecks. Finally, my company found Provident Bank and have been with him and using them ever since. I have since retired and moved out of and still keep my Provident Bank permit in Social Security comes in I can transfer it to another bank real quick and I choose to do this as I don’t like any other bank as much as I like them. You go through the drive-through and the second time there they were already know your name & your face. I asked them if they were using something to identify you, and they were not! I find this rather amazing! So, I have an account at another bank because they’re not in my state where I can transfer all my bill money and as a back up in case my debit and I need to wait to get it replaced I have access to my money always! Every person in the Flemington branch is personable, and nice they treat you very well! You also get interest on your account & may also have your ATM fees refunded! Great bank I just left Provident in Flemington New Jersey! I wish they were all over.

The manager. Liliana is very helpful always, Halina , one of the tellers is the best, I go to her all the time. All the other tellers are always readily willing to help and all are extremely friendly. Piano Ma’am

This app is ok for routine banking activities, but when it sets out to make statements available on iPadOS 15.7.1 and before, it goes ok until you try to download and save copies of the statements as you should be able to, but the download is useless. You can never view it. Tap on the downloaded file to open it and it brings up a black screen with the file name and it’s the end of the road. It gives an option in the upper right hand corner to open the file in browser, but tap on it and it takes you to the last opened tab in that browser and leaves you staring at whatever URL was open in that tab. Try using a PDF app like PDF Expert to open it and it reports the .asp file as corrupt. Save it with a .pdf file name suffix makes no difference. You literally have to go to another device like a desktop, log in through the website, save the files there and if you need to get them to your iPad then go through whatever additional steps to achieve this. Maybe the developer of the app needs to actually test these paths through the code under all conditions and see what happens. A routine download costed me a lot of time and effort to find my workaround to this flaw. I’ve got several other banking apps that have no problem like this. Just the Provident NJ one. Affinity and United TeleTech are just 2 that have a very similar look and feel, but actually work in this regard. 🤔👎👎👎

The app no longer lets me deposit checks, as when I try to take a photo of the check it gets stuck on the “Rotate your device…” prompt and no amount of rotating works. Without this feature the app is very nearly useless.

I’ve tried everything. Uninstalling and reinstalling. Restarting my phone. But I literally cannot deposit checks on mobile now that I have IOS16. Please fix this and support IOS16!

On any newer iPhone when you go to take the picture it just goes blurry and asks you to rotate. This is on multiple devices. Turned off and back on. Removed and re downloaded. It’s been months with no fix. Epic fail

The update has made it impossible to do online deposits. Let’s go back to 1985 when you had to walk into the bank because your camera can’t take a picture of a check with the Provident App

I don’t know why they decided to update the mobile deposit but you have to sit and rotate your phone until it eventually connects and the camera turns on which is absolutely annoying. It was perfectly fine the way it was and now they made it extremely difficult to deposit a check.
