Salesforce Authenticator adds an extra layer of security to your online accounts as a strong, out-of-band authentication provider. The app sends you a push notification, and you tap 'Approve' for logins and critical actions when it's you, or 'Deny' if it's not. For even more convenience, Salesforce Authenticator can use location services to automatically verify from locations you trust, like your office or home. Better yet, Einstein can save trusted requests for you! Then you need only respond to notifications when something out-of-the-ordinary happens.
You can also get a verification code when you need one. The codes also work as a backup authentication method if you're on a plane, or have poor connectivity. This means Salesforce Authenticator also works with third-party services that use OATH TOTP tokens.

Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Rest assured, we go to great lengths to ensure minimal GPS use so that Salesforce Authenticator does not significantly impact your battery life.

Very good app

Very interesting to play was it every time I need to login to salesforce makes my life much easier with salesforce. This is a must for all salesforce users.

Not good with location

Saved location feature doesn’t work. I’ve “saved location” from the same spot on my couch multiple times a week the past few months

Solid app for what it is

As far as Authenticator apps go, this is the best I’ve used. It never fails to quickly prompt the 2fa and I’ve never had it go down. Other apps I’ve had to use in the past are slow and irritating when trying to sign in

Salesforce has zero skills in apps and forcing users to download an entirely separate app to authenticate login EVERY SINGLE DAY is absurd. It’s just a prop to make companies feel more valuable and self righteous. Also, the app rarely works as it’s supposed to! The least it could do is remember locations that you use every single day, like home or an office. But can it do that? Nope. It says it can, but actually cannot. How this company can afford a stadium title is insanity. Trash on trash.

No support

Difficult to deal with two factor identification there is not support for Quip. Frustrating
