In a world saturated with streaming choices and companies squeezing whatever they can from their consumers, I was happy to sign up for a platform that speaks more to my specific taste in movie genres. All was well until I noticed that the recent J horror movies that were added were in fact not available to Australian subscribers. I would have rated this app much higher if we could just get to a point in life where out of date licensing barriers and region restrictions were a thing of the past. So long as they exist, people will always source movies from less official means.

For context, I was looking to watch Perfect Blue. After searching for a bit, I saw Shudder come up. They claimed you could watch the film through them. I had heard good things about the service so I decided to give it a chance The only thing: the second I got an account, and went onto the app, Perfect Blue was not available to watch, and there were no movies I had even heard of before on the for you page (which is amazing to highlight small creators, but it’s not what I’m looking for in a streaming service) I guess the take away is be careful, because they claim to have big name films, and then they vanish when you get the subscription.

I have the app but the “see plan options” button does nothing so I am left with only a log in option. I don’t have a log in yet so can’t even try the free trial or see what they have. Disappointing

Unable to cancel the subscription through the website as I have no option to there. Customer service won’t do anything to help and just keeps passing me off to others.

It doesn’t allow you to unsubscribe and there’s no contact info. This is a scam

I had a billing issue where I had somehow had 2 subscriptions through the one account. I contacted them as soon as I noticed the issue and they got back to me super quick and sorted everything for me pretty much immediately. I don’t think I’ve ever had such good customer service for an app, let alone a streaming service! Would 100% recommend, I love the diverse content, especially the amount of non-English speaking movies available.

it keeps buffering every 30 seconds my internet is no issue as no other streaming app behaves the same way

Great content but the steaming is sketchy af no matter where I am! (Australia) So frustrating. I’ll probably cancel my membership til this is fixed.
