Simple Scan • Quick Scanner

I’ve been trying countless PDF scanners including Adobe Scan, Microsoft lens, built-in iOS notes scanner, etc. I needed to be able to save my scans to a specific folder in OneDrive on my iPhone and most importantly needed the scanned PDF’s to be searchable. Having the scanned documents searchable is key so that I don’t have to come up with a file name for each scan in order to find what I’m looking for in the future. All of the other apps that I tried ‘sort of’ worked but all had some sort of issue that kept me from having a streamlined solution. Issues included everything from account sign problems (endless loop) to OCR not working properly. This Simple Scan App is perfect. It does everything I need. Thank you to the developer(s) :) I finally have a streamlined and searchable paperless solution. Highly recommend! .

The simplicity of this app, the auto-page detection, the OCR (optical character recognition), the ability to output to cloud storage, messages, email or any share sheet items is awesome. All that stuff above it awesome, but the sheer time savings in immediately being able to scan and destroy a receipt is incredible. One Suggestion for a future release is the ability to control file, naming conventions.

I love this scanning app. While you can build a shortcut to make this easy, just buy this app. I recommend it to so many people. The developer does a great job with this app and another favorite of mine, DRAFTS. A few things I love: The ability to email or message a scan to anyone, including myself automatically. I use the save to file feature the most. You can chose the location and have it as the default, then anytime you scan it will save it there. I save it to a desktop folder called “simple scan” this way I can retrieve anything I save there from ay device. This app is a must have for anyone who scans documents on a regular basis.

I used to only scan documents in the Apple Notes app. Now, I can do it whenever I want and even save the documents DevonThink. Cool!

Simple Scan is wonderful. It’s simple and straightforward, very iOS-focused and well-integrated into the system. The file name templates are great, as are the custom destinations. Scans are high quality and the OCR works well. All this and no bloat, no ads, no data harvesting, and no privacy concerns. A refreshing approach to software these days. Highly recommended!

I have been using Scannable for a few years now. Unfortunately, Evernote has gotten greedy and while Scannable itself is free, is usability has been reduced while a hidden cost has been added. Now, you have to have Evernote to get your scans out of Scannabke. And Evernote is really costly. Simple Scan steps up and, while it is not free, it is more than reasonable at $5 annually. Or $50 lifetime. It is a little more clunky than Scannabke, but it is a great, simple scanning app that I think will fit our needs. I happened across it in a review by one of the Apple dedicated RSS news feeds. I would like to see this app be simplified to the extent Scannable was, but I get it. I hope the developer does well with it, and I will start using it today! Goodbye to Scannable and Evernote; hello Simple Scan!

Having used a variety of iPhone scanner software over the years, this is THE BEST of them all!

Extraordinarily simple to use, excellent useful customization, very clear scans without unneeded background add-ons

I’m happy to pay the lifetime fee but I feel like cropping is too awkward (can’t move a margin easily — have to fiddle with both corners) and there’s no opportunity to name a scan before you share it. But still a handy app.
