Strava is awesome in many ways of course. It would be nice if we could use a calendar to plan training in advance similar to TrainingPeaks. Allow us to put a library of workouts on a calendar and have it show up on all of our devices. It would also be nice if their stress calculation was the same as TSS but I would imagine there’s some sort of ownership from TrainingPeaks For the most part, however Strava is awesome
This app succeeded in disappointing an iPhone user. Certain reference sources indicated its metrics were integrated with Apple Health (AH). Experience suggested otherwise. - A pain to set up, understand, verify integration with AH. - An over abundance of measures for the less experienced user/athlete. Assumes much prior knowledge. - Poor integration with AH app. Missing key measures and drill down details for a workout imported to AH. More of a stand alone app. - Poor or absent display of key data like heart rate recovery. Like VO2 Max (fitness measure), within the Strava app or as synced to AH. - Too much ‘social’ content. This app seems designed for ‘exercizers’ wanting virtual connection to a broader community; a legitimate feature for those seeking this, but non-starting for the solitary athlete just doing their thing. - Again, not a substitute for or supplying alternate measures of fitness in place of those built in to AH. - An app for non-users of AH.
What is happening with Strava these days? It’s fine one minute and then all of a sudden it reloads in the middle of my run and then sets back my time to 2 minutes. It almost like the fitness app from the iPhone overtakes it. My treadmill says I ran for 36 minutes but on Strava, it says I’ve only ran 34. Can someone please fix this. When I run I don’t want to keep checking to see if my running app is still recording my progress.
You basically can’t use anything in this app without paying for the subscription. It’s so annoying to click on things and always have the ‘buy premium’ popup. Go elsewhere…

Isn’t a 5k 3.16 miles? Because I just did a 3.16 mile run and Strava says it wasn’t a 5k. I did it at a 6:15 minutes per mile pace and it says I ran at a 6:58 minutes per mile pace. I completed this run in around 19:46 minutes but it says my 5k was completed after 20 minutes and 24 seconds.
I love the app it’s easy to use and it’s fun to compete against family and friends on the same workouts!
I paid for a year’s subscription with the hope to find one app I can log and track, all my activities in which are Hiking in the winter and gym workouts all year, in the summer kayaking and Paddle boarding. I like the 3D map when route is finished, especially hiking and paddling. However if I start my hike in my Apple Watch it gets it right, if I try to record an activity on my phone it defaults to Paddle boarding. 🤷♀️🤷♀️ Trying to navigate back after a hike to edit my stopping point as I often forget to stop or start my watch is frustrating. I enjoyed my trail forks app more or All trails but no charts. I think it is trying to be good at everything and it needs some help. I do not think the integration with Apple IOS is very good. I wanted to love this but just frustrated. I suspect it keeps defaulting to paddle-boarding on my phone because that was my primary activity in the Summer. I have to go back in and edit the hike to fix the activity because the phone app defaults to record paddle and I can’t change it until after my hike. I usually start from my Apple watch but I do not always have it with me. I also wanted to set up Siri shortcut but only run or walk seems to be choice. Since I paid for it I will use it until then. Voice control would have been best or a phone shortcut.
