Still awesome as usual. Thanks for all the hard work and edits. Long time subscriber here. The weekly progress is showing 0 KMs ridden when I’m definitely not at 0.
Strava is my favorite social media
I subscribed for the free trial. But ended up getting charged the second I started it. Better yet the subscription doesn’t even work and my account doesn’t have the membership. Their chat bot is trash and didn’t help. I wanted a refund or for them to fix my account but they are saying I need to contact Apple. I’ll just submit a claim to the BBB to receive my money through them.
While in the middle of my run, I’ll check my watch and notice the Strava app is no longer active. When I go back to open up the Strava app. It’s behind a quarter to a half a mile or more. Please fix!
The free version is so terribly watered down, they are trying to force people to upgrade to see bare minimum stats and data of their runs. Insanity - sure make people pay for upgraded insights, analysis, or premium new stuff, but don’t be so cheap to paywall the bare minimum stuff from most people. Greedy move and I’d never subscribe for that reason alone. Only redeeming quality is the social aspect, but if they’re not careful another app will take it over and do it better.
Fatmaps was an unbelievable app that provided invaluable resources to backcountry skiers, hikers, campers etc. Strava comes in and buys the app and "integrates" it with Strava. This means all of it's useful features were deleted and Fatmaps is basically gone. The main consequences are twofold 1) Putting backcountry users at higher risk of injury and/or death with no reliable map guiding information and having to rely on paper maps. 2) Making life harder and less fun for those who plan backcountry excursions. Fatmaps provided exceptional mapping and descriptions of routes - to relieve the stress of route planning for outdoor recreationists. Strava clearly saw Fatmaps as a "superior potential competitor" in the next few years if Fatmaps decided to add in features that Strava currently offers. Easiest way to ensure this doesn't happen...buy the app and shut it down. Strava needs to look deeply in the mirror and figure out how they want to be perceived.
i love strava it keeps me motivated and i especially love the social aspect of the app however i do have some suggestions as to how the developers can make the app better. 1. safety rating on the routes i feel like if the users could give a rating as to how safe the route felt for them after they complete it it could rlly help other users decide if its a route they would like to take or not. this could especially help female users. 2. modification of maps feature safety wise it would be smart to install a feature where ur account can be public but all the maps that u post r only viewable to mutuals thats it thank you!
This app used to be great, but now it is just trying to sell you a premium subscription. They have removed many features from the free version and made it subscription only. I think Strava has lost sight of what made it great and is now focusing on profits.
There are no more sport spirit in that app and company. They ruin everything on their way for business.
