Very unintuitive and unnecessarily complicated performing of simple tasks. I have spent nearly 30 min trying to turn my heating back on. It seems the power button only powers off. I am using the iPhone app.

Installed this system and app three years ago and found it a great help, but over the last month or so getting repeated messages saying users experiencing problems, at the moment the app is frozen and not updating, tried deleting and reinstalling but no joy. I notice that there doesn’t seem to have been an app update for some considerable time, what’s going on as the functionality that made this system so appealing doesn’t seem to work?

Hopelessly complicated to use Dms

The e phone system controlled by this App is buggy and requires a lot of reprogramming, almost daily at the moment by me. Keeps turning heating off and ignored the schedule temperature. Expensive and seemingly unable to be fixed by Honeywell Residio

Instead of just turning something on, you have to cancel it from being off! It’s not rocket science, it’s an app for controlling heating but it has the most bizarre, unintuitive design of any app I’ve ever used. I read the instructions 6/years ago and I still can’t work it out. Sometimes when I think it’s off, it comes on, so I don’t use the app anymore, I use the keypad in the room to cancel it from being on! Even the icons for the different features don’t make sense. This was clearly never tested on people. Coupled with the fact that it doesn’t work if the main server is down (this communicates with your heating via a cloud based server and not directly), and you’re not even told it’s down, wasting your time trouble shooting something you can’t even fix, this system is poorly designed, clunky, unintuitive and misleading. All-in-all the worst app design of any app I’ve ever used.

I've used this app for several years now and have experienced numerous problems with it, or the Honeywell central heating system it’s supposed to control. Is it reliable, no. Do I trust it, no.

Had the app for two winters now. I was surprised when I opened it up in September to see zero updates to it. It is so clunky to use it’s painful ‘schedule unavailable’ appears every week. You can’t up the temperature for a time in the future without changing it immediately or making it permanent. Not great for such a well known brand.

So easy to control and modify the heating throughout the home. Never had an issue in over a year. Not tried it with hot water yet, as the controller is not yet installed. However, I doubt it will be an issue.

Prepare to spend a lot more on heating! App is so complex to use yet so limited. Even opening the app seems to set all heating everywhere to 22.5c permanently. So: you set a schedule and if you open the app you suddenly find the heati BFF kicks over to a seemingly pre-set swelteringly hot 22.5c until you realise the whole house temp and your gas bill have gone through the roof. Then you get it back on the schedule - till you next open app and then it all gets overruled. Best not to use and stick to main control only Limitations: There’s no location sensing so unless you set it to away it isn’t actually smart. Smart Radiator valves never available and expensive so zoned heating impractical
