Upward: Christian Dating App

Not bad, but not good, either. One of my biggest suggestions and potential complaints is that you cannot delete your account if your subscription is still active. I should be able to delete my account whenever I want to, for whatever reason I want to. I paid for my subscription, I immediately canceled it so it will not auto renew, but I no longer wish to use the app and I cannot delete my profile until my subscription expires. Poor form.

Hi Upward I’m Trevor I never had experience on dating apps before and I just want to apologize for my lack of communication and understanding of the app and I do apologize for misunderstanding your rules of the website and the app as well and I will apologize for using the app the wrong way and having the same pictures every single time I go on the app and I am not good with pictures and videos of myself and I also apologize for deleting my messages and deleting accounts on upward and that’s why I keep getting kicked off of the app and I’m sorry for that behavior and if you do get a chance to message me by email that would be super and I also want to apologize yelling and being frustrated and rude at you guys I’m so sorry about this and I hope to get another chance one day to be on upward in the future if possible and I hope that you will understand and forgive me for my apologies and my mistakes which I hope that I will never do anymore and I will promise to comply and follow the guidelines and terms and etc every day and I hope to hear from the developers soon and I’m sorry about everything I have done wrong and I will make it up to you some day when I get another chance to be on this app in the future and I will have better pictures and videos and etc and have a good day to you guys

I don’t usually write reviews and I am brand new to online dating (I’ve been a widow for a year and a half). It might just be that I just don’t understand how it works or is supposed to work, but here are the things that frustrate me. I don’t ever pay for apps, there are way more important ways to spend my money on. When I get likes and can’t see who likes me is crazy to me. I have 17 likes and the possibility that those 17 people are people I accidentally swiped left for are huge. My accidental swipes happen a lot; sometimes I’m trying to scroll down to see more of the profile and sometimes I’m trying to zoom into a photo. I understand the need to make money, but could the money be charged for something different? I won’t pay to see who liked me because I don’t know what I am paying for; now if I could see the person’s bio and I want to contact them, that i would pay for. I have my distance set for under a 100 miles. When I first started they were in that range, but now I see people from 500 to 1,000 miles. Which means I have no idea if they are in another state or in Canada. This is frustrating for me. I can understand not saying the city but the state would be helpful I’m not a fan of not being able to revisit my swipes. It would be nice to have a page with right swipe profiles or left swipe profiles. Or to be able to somehow revisit a profile later before choosing left or right. Sorry if this review is too long. Dating again after being married 34 years is scary. That’s hard enough to get used to without the frustrations of accidentally swiping wrong

Started this app and I wish I didn’t put in a subscription. I thought I didn’t see the people who liked me because I didn’t have a subscription. Curiosity got the better of me and still no likes of my profile. The chats are pretty weird too, there’s drama going on in the main ones and it’s not worth it, honestly. I’d rather try putting myself out there in person than this app.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Your servers won’t just upload any content at all. Specially at night it has hard time to work when you have people on it. 2/5 for now

Went through the hassle of signing up, uploading pictures and was never shown a single person ever…in the middle of my screen an icon just spun for hours and days never once showing a match lol. Second this site doesn’t do their pictures like any other read the fine print!!! Even though you select your pictures they have access to ALL your pictures. They can only show what is selected but Lord knows what they do with the rest. BEWARE there is NOTHING Christian about this site

I bought the premium subscription for Upward which was a mistake. You only get the same three preferences for people as the free version. Also, the app ignores your preferences. I set it for no children and other options and I keep getting people outside my preferences. I emailed them and they took a while to respond. Then I emailed back and no response. I sent another separate message and no response. Stay clear of this app. If you want a Christian dating app, try Holy.

Only shows people from long distance and no matches at all.

Met a woman on this app and we went on our first date In January of 2022.

Don’t bother with this app because they’ll terminate your account with no explanation. They’ll give all sorts of excuses and won’t help you. I’d give zero stars if I could. Shame on their “customer service” for mistreating their customers/users
