Wahoo ELEMNT Companion

I constantly have bugs with wahoo devices and app in general. The tickr 2 is really bad, the battery cover breaks after two changed batteries, which btw discharges much faster than on other hr monitors. The app now has this problem where it needs to resync with strava and komoot and if I press the resync button, nothing happens.

Works great, intuitive. Super easy to set a route on the device!

For me the functionality is spot on, just what I need for my rides, however stability of the app and specifically the Bluetooth connection with the Bolt itself has become very dodgy for about the past year. Updates are too frequent and I developed a spasm when seeing one because there’s a chance for some fiddling the next few times I use the device: either it won’t connect, either the connection is fluctuating, maybe the app needs a reinstall from the store as well? Oh and if you do that, don’t forget to go to your Bluetooth devices list and delete the ‘old’ element connection. So that’s a completely unnecessary fuss and for the next few months I will simply ignore the update INSTALL NOW.

Always has connection issues with TrainingPeaks.

Simple and relatively consistent with tracking. The occasional glitch “warming up” infinite loop has happened. I’ve owned and used this wahoo for two years to track swimming, biking and runs. Syncs well to Strava in my experience. Would recommend.

It works when it works. But the problem is that it never works 100%, each new update something breaks. This new version is the time of Strava upload workout not to work. It is ridiculous the concept of this app, after you finish the workout you were supposed to sync it into the companion app, and from there everything works on your phone, the bike computer is just a terminal (or at least should be), but nop, most of things you have to have the device around to make the companion app to work properly. Ohhh yes, the bike computer (bolt v2) once in while just loses connection with a sensor and you just realize after you start the ride, so you have to stop, disconnect, and re-connect the sensor. But it is not a 3rd party sensor, I’m talking about wahoo sensors, like kickr, tickr, etc.

This app isn’t that user friendly to me, good technology but not the most user friendly experience.

After the latest update, I haven’t been able to consistently sync my rides from my Bolt. I can view them on the Bolt, but not on the app. I’ve had other bugs and glitches too. Feels like a beta. Release a finished product!

I’ve been using a Wahoo Bolt for several years without much drama. Recently I upgraded to a V2 Bolt which I like. However, after a recent update to the Bolt and companion app, I continually need to unpair and then pair my iPhone 13 w the Bolt. Opening up the app and turning on the Bolt, the app sits there continuing to “Searching” with the Bolt next to it. I end up needing to FORGET the Phone then reregister as if I now have a new phone in order for the app to connect w the Bolt. Looking at BT, it will also say the Bolt is connected and yet the app continues to search. I’d love to know what I am doing wrong. Did not have this issue w V1 until more recently.
