WebOutLoud - Text to Speech

Great app but a bit of a buggy mess. Ao3 is ranked third most used site, but the saves don’t title any pages from that site properly. Frequently needs to be closed and reopened before it’ll play. Won’t restore purchases.

It would really be nice if when first installed, a couple of pop ups point to each button on the toolbar and explain what it is, and how to use it now i just have this random tool bar with different buttons and i dont know what does what. Also, where do the downloads even save? it just tells you absolutely nothing...

Great for study but the voice is a bit grating if it’s a long article 😅

This app provides an efficient and user friendly way of reading webpages and PDFs. The built-in web browser is easy to navigate and use, and the ability to save articles and documents into a playlist makes this app a convenient reading tool. Furthermore, features such as Touch Assist and Reader Mode enable the user to specify the content that they would like to be read aloud and skip extraneous content such as advertisements on webpages. The app is also fully accessible with the VoiceOver screen reader on iOS, meaning that it will work well for blind users. The app is constantly improving, and the developer responds promptly to feedback and suggestions. I would highly recommend this app and I look forward to finding out how it continues to develop in the future.

Useless, downloaded the app, wacthed the tutorial, copy and pasted my first URL into the address bar, selected the page title as a starting point....... the app crashes..... try again.... same.... the app crashes.... way to go! Uninstalled.

It have tried numerous other Text to Speech Solutions, but this stands in a class of it's own!

This is a great app for listening to articles while traveling or commuting!

I’ve tried other paid text to speech apps and by far this one is my favorite! Not just because of the app’s functionality but also the app developers customer service. They are very responsive to inquiries and suggestions on ways to improve their product. Well worth the price. I’m extremely pleased.

The interace is aweful. It uses it's own menu bar of icons on the bottom of the application which I do not know what half of them are. It's essentially a Chrome browser embeeded an application with some buttons tacked on at the bottom. It uses very little standard ui/ux conventions for the macos menu items, ie File/Open are not used at all. To simply bring in pdf files you have to go to the "saved content" window, add a pdf to it. It doesn't have a table of contents or a thumbnail list. As soon as you resize the window, it resets the pdf back to page 1. If you haven't paid for the tool many buttons will force you to a purchase window which you can't get out of without force quiting the app. Once you get to the reading part it is fine but the experience just trying to demo the product before paying for it is less then desirable.

Not worth downloading hard to use and it glitches.
