Out of 1h10m video from YouTube only 25% was transcribed

Spoke English, output in welsh?? When translated it was gobbledygook Requested refund.

Had hoped for a free transcriber with add-ons for high-end extras. What you get for free is a transcription that you can't copy/paste.

Attempted a transcript. The app was stuck in processing and failed at the first attempt.

Simply does not work. Don’t waste your money

I've found this to be one of the best speech-to-text apps yet available. While it still has some frustrations, these are nothing like the hit or miss affairs that I've come across elsewhere. My main use is to transcribe film/tv sound tracks (mainly documentaries) so that I can refer to a typescript. I use my iPhone 12, play back the video as an MP4 through the iMac speakers, and hey presto, the processing happens, I have a text which I can then AirDrop into a Word document. There is of course a limit - don't try more than 2 to 3 minutes at a time - otherwise the app could hang. Its recognition of English, including Scottish dialects has been fantastic, though I've found that it helps to have clear RP English to start. If you start otherwise, occasionally I've found that it reproduces the text in a 'sort' of Welsh language - very strange, and untranslateable! One annoying glitch is that when the system does hang, there is no way out other than by rebooting the iPhone and starting over. Maybe the app would work better on my iMac, but it's too old to get to v12 OS.

Waste of money would not upload mp3 format

I recently purchased a lifetime account for the Whisper app, excited about its promised features, particularly video transcription capabilities. Unfortunately, my experience has been deeply disappointing. Pros: - The concept of the app is promising - User interface seems clean and intuitive Cons: - Approximately 90% of the advertised features do not work as promised - YouTube video transcription feature is non-functional - Personal library video transcription also fails to work - Customer support has been unresponsive to my concerns After investing in a lifetime account, I was dismayed to find that key features like YouTube video transcription and transcription of videos from my personal library simply don't work. These were major selling points that influenced my decision to purchase. I've reached out to customer support about these issues and the possibility of a refund, but as of writing this review, I haven't received a satisfactory response. For potential buyers: I strongly recommend caution before purchasing. The app's actual functionality falls far short of what's advertised. Make sure to thoroughly test all features you're interested in during any trial period before committing to a purchase. To the Whisper team: Please focus on delivering the features you promise. As it stands, the app feels like a beta version at best, not a polished product worthy of a lifetime investment. I hope the developers can address these issues promptly. Until then, I cannot recommend this app to others.
