Daily Prompt: Creative Writing

This app is just the thing I’ve been looking for for years. Sick of the same old generic writing prompts that just give you a genre or place or name? If so, you’ll definitely enjoy this app. The prompts themselves are interesting and challenging, you can set a daily word count goal, and you can set a time to be reminded daily to write. A premium subscription even gets you prompt packages such as “Novel preparation”, which has around 30 prompts to get you started on longer works. Other packages are specialized for things like dialogue writing, and other essential skills. With premium, you can also join competitions with actual monetary prizes if you place in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd based on popular vote (I haven’t been able to confirm if you actually do get cash, though). The community is not enormous right now, but it’s active enough that you get to read something new every day, and even get feedback on your work sometimes. You can mark your work as “open to feedback” or not as well to let readers know if you’re still working on it or just doing a one-off exercise. My only complaint would be that there are a few things in the interface that need to be fine tuned. For example, there’s no option to italicize text. It would also be great if there could be an option to mark the status of your writing and have it indicated in the preview so readers know its stats before tapping. Is it just practice? A work in progress? A completed work? There are a few other suggestions I don’t want to get into here, but the people working on the app are very open to suggestions, and quite helpful with my queries and concerns as well. I think, given enough time, this could be a must-have app for writers and readers alike.

I downloaded this app because it looked promising, and I'm happy to say I wasn't disappointed. The prompts themselves are good, with variety (such as photos being interspersed with the situations, and even just straight up words) and the word limit sets an interesting challenge. The simple design also helps focus since there aren't many other unnecessary buttons or features which distract you from the writing.

Everyone that works on this app is so amazing. They listen to feedback and really want their users to be successful. The community they’ve cultivated on their Discord really reflects the work put in to this app. Cannot recommend enough 🩷

Getting this app was the best decision I've ever made. For as long as I can remember, I have had a passion for creating things that other people can relate to and have fun reading. Never once did I expect to see myself where I am now. Daily Prompt has every resource you need to get yourself started on that perfect book you can't stop thinking about. Not only that, you'll be welcomed and supported by the most amazing community of people anyone could ever wish for.

I used to be an avid fanfiction author and still am in some ways but ever since starting Daily prompt have moved on from fanfictions and writing my own creations with my own characters and feel much more for filled and I love talking to the other authors on this sight everyone is so kind and friendly. I would recommend Daily prompt to all aspiring authors.

I swear, I spend more time on the Daily Prompt app than I do on Facebook. I haven’t missed a single day of writing since I’ve downloaded this app. It’s got a lot of awesome features on it that really allow you to aspire as a creative writer. It allows you to receive and give feedback, and there is no limit to how much you can post in one day. They even have live competitions where you can win actual money. All in all, it’s an amazing app. The only reason I didn’t rate it five stars is because there are a few minor tweaks I would suggest as far as technicality goes. But the overall layout is simple to use and it truly is a super productive app.

Even though there are a lot of functions that require a premium mode, the app is very usefull and helps me with writers block and other dilemmas.
