1Writer - Markdown Text Editor

Surprised to see that this app was updated two years ago… There's no sign that it is aging at all. This is the only markdown app that I have ever used for writing stories that hasn't revealed some quirky incompatibility with my process. I love it.

Bought this for one job and it failed. Do not buy!

I did a lot of research for this. I wanted a markdown editor with preview that can sync between devices especially with Dropbox for no subscription. I also wanted to be able to readily share stuff as a nice-looking PDF. This syncs great for me. I get to use this as an editor without being locked in for a sync vendor. Makes my life a lot easier. Thanks!

I use 1Writer to begin my markdown writing journey and then moving the file to obsidian to link my thoughts and notes. Works flawlessly.

I am a longtime SimpleNote user because of its library features and cross platform support, but have become increasingly dissatisfied with it not having a toolbar on iOS and now dealing with CAPTCHA on Windows. I played with several Markdown editors, but they didn’t have the library features I needed. Then I discovered 1Writer. It’s nearly perfect and the price is right. I still use a couple of apps for occasional PC use, but 1Writer maintains my library now.

Great app. Does what it says for the price you pay. Like they used to be. Whippersnappers!

The perfect writing app. Big fan of its Dropbox-connection support. Powerful where you need it, simple and elegant everywhere else. All software should be like this.

I first downloaded 1Writer over a decade ago, and still use it on a weekly basis. It keeps everything I write synced to my Nextcloud server via WebDAV and support markdown formatting. Love it. Many thanks to the developer for continuing to support it for so long!

Probably one of the most useful tools on my iPad and iPhone.

This app is fantastic. One of its best features is how it will remember where you last left the cursor in a document when you open another. You can swipe out of a draft and come back to it right where you left off. This and being able to organize everything into files has made it one of my most used apps because of how easy it makes writing.
