I find it hard to use the features of the app because there is only vague information about how to utilise the site. I will no be renewing my subscription

Keeps telling me no connection (it is) have tried closing out, re powering the device and removing/reinstalling. Got no cost apps giving me better info with no issues

This app has tried my patience over the years. It just has continual errors. Constantly searching the internet to resolve issues etc. Every time i go to use it there is another issue. When you can get it working, the maps are great. Hema need to replace the whole app development team. Its a shocker. After years of putting up with and trying to resolve issues, it is time for a divorce. Its not me, its you.

left this review on the Hema website for the app but it doesn’t appear to have been approved for display. I have used tried to use this app a few times now for different trips. On the surface, as a maps app, it works well and I find the maps themselves to be very good with a decent user interface for basic map reading, zooming, etc. But beyond that to any more functionality and the app starts to fall over with intermittent faults. I have found on many occasions that the function of some of the features are unreliable. Some notes about the app design and function below which I did not like. - When you open the app (iphone) a bar at the top shows whether it is in offline or online mode. This bar covers some of the buttons (filters, search, menu, etc.) so you need to wait 5-10s or so for it to disappear. Doesnt sound like much but this design could be improved. - When using the app, jumping out of the app momentarily and back into the app resets it and it loses the location on the map and by default shows the map in the middle of the ocean somewhere. Clicking on the location button does locate the map on your location, but this is a very frustrating. Note that this is not the case when in the middle of recording a track. And it didnt matter if I had location services enabled all the time or not. - I could not get my custom POI profile to work properly, it would not show everything even though I had certain POIs included in the profile. Not a huge issue as the default ones arent too bad, but still a feature that I didnt find to work. - A few issues recording tracks. Starts recording well, but there were times when if I paused it for whatever reason and I unpause the recording it would track the track as if it was still recording, but not actually record that section of the track in the end (at least not the location data on the map). This only becomes apparent after you stop the recording all together and there is no indication that it is not recording while on a track. - I could not find how to search other people's tracks in the app (e.g. to look at how long a particular track takes to drive) like you can do with Hema Cloud on a browser. Not sure if this can be done (the search button does not provide it, even when in online mode). - About 50% of the time if I paused a recording and unpaused it, it would continue to actually record the track but would not show and indication of it recording on the map (no highlighted section on the map). - I was in offline

I’ve been using the app on an ipad for a number of years, and I love the depth of detail, ease of use, etc. The latest release is amazing…except… management of waypoints and POIs needs to be expanded on. I have thousands of waypoints added, and thousands of POIs added (parking bays, floodways, bridges etc) and with waypoints, you turn them all on, or all off, whereas a folder based approach would be better, and POIs cant be edited easily once they're added. If you add decent waypoint and POI management functionality to the app, I’ll be a lifetime customer :). Right now, I have to use two different apps…

Total trash after updating all my trip details have gone

I have still been using the old Hema Explorer which I love but no longer supported. Thought it was time for an upgrade and all I can say is what a waste of money. Cannot navigate directly to a waypoint, no imagery downloads like the old days, recording a track works sometimes. If I could figure out how to get a refund and delete this app I would!

Like the app, however needs Apple Car Play integration. Too difficult to use effectively as an in-vehicle navigation system otherwise.

I have been persevering with this app for about 3.5 years now and have had various map pack subs on and off over that time. I have had multiple issues as other have described where if you’re offline for a period/get a random bar of service you get booted from the app and have to log back in… last thing you want when half way through a long trip our remote bush! lucky I had hard maps on hand. I have been able to put up with that over the years and I had some tech support here and there which seemed to help so I put it down to user error and moved on. But the final straw for me was that since my last map purchase/sub I have had access to them once, and now suddenly I can’t access the app at all with my normal log in details. I have followed the password reset tool and that seems to work, but as soon as I try log in again it said something like ‘this account isn’t recognised’. I have emailed for support but this time I have had zero response. I’m literally wasting money on a service that I can’t even access. Not good enough.

This is nowhere near quality of the previous product. Now discontinued because it worked. Do not like this product at all.
