Sometimes it stops working via VPN — the pictures aren’t loading. It doesn’t show the nsfw pics.
The layout of the images on the screen is terrible.
Have you ever tried opening a picture on your iPad horizontally? If you do, you have to either close the app completely or flip the iPad over. It's very comfortable when it's on a stand.
And this fantastic spasticity from marketers, slipping you "recommendations" in the first place. It's as if when you go to the store, instead of choosing the products you want, you have to look at the ads first.

Bugs
A couple of bugs - now there is no other languages available, except English (for example no German in app even if you choose it, and no Ukrainian at all); it‘s impossible to buy unlimited uploads from iOS (always gives error); problem to find correct or at all to find geotag, a place where it was shot; sometimes there is problem to load “timeline” - gives error and nothing happens. Web-site works much better comparing to this app.
The “new” look of it is good, not fresh, but better then previous.
Horrible UX
Impossible to navigate back by swiping, buttons spread across all the screen I should juggle with the phone in my hand to use the app. Feed list jumps in random direction when loading the next portion of images

Censorship and bugs.
This app silently filters out some images like nudes. If you do not use the site, you just miss them. It also does not refresh the stream and notifications automatically. Also the thumbnails are not always shown.
Not bad
500px is a good place to share and find beauty.
The app shows photos in larger resolution than the website.
But it doesn’t have search, it’s not easy to return to the start screen, it sometimes doesn’t show the photos from hyperlinks (on iPad).
