AFK Journey

I've tried to get into this game. Really tried! But, it is nothing like AFK Arena. Although the characters are similar, what they do and how they interact is not the same. This game is geared to pit you against endless battles that are unwinable unless you buy upgrades. And what upgrades you need is unclear as well. So, you risk paying a lot for the wrong things and still not being able to progress. All in all, it was diverting for a month, but now it is too hard to play, too hard to follow the adventure, and too hard to enjoy. Perhaps I'll come back again, but for my money, don't go here.

Such cool game! I love it. There is a problem though. AFK Journey takes up so much space on my device. 7 GBS!!! I had to offload it twice to make it have less space

Evil greed, force people to spend if they want to compete in pvp with the recent paragon lv change. The game was able to beat higher lv unit with strategy and placement. But now just linear games play to make sure whales able to win.

Loved it but the new paragon changes makes the game unplayable for ftp and low spenders. Enter with caution.

Well, the first year was great and I had a lot of fun but it’s obvious the devs are starting the milking process. Don’t get into the game now unless you want to spend a huge amount of real money to catch up. To give you an idea of where the game is heading: gacha for cosmetic items

this game is good in concept, and the art style is gorgeous, but these new paragon changes has to go. The developers have become very greedy and this already pay to win trash game is going to become almost unplayable for casual/f2p/low-spending players. Fix this.

It's alright, the guild activities are very lacking and restrictive to how much you can do volume wise. Also it's one of those games that crank out a new server every few days so you might download the game and it will recommend you server 570 but after a few weeks it will be dead and all the new players will be on server 700. They do this to keep the whales whaling but if you are more of a f2p player then avoid games of this genre that don't have a global or region specific servers.

EDIT: Recent changes to the game regarding paragon and pvp have meant that instead of strategy the game is surrounding who can spend the most money to get a higher paragon. S+ vs P1 no biggie, P1 vs P2 hard P3 vs P4 even harder and so fourth. The game is experiencing another exodus of players similar to the Marilee incident at the start. This time it is mid spenders to high dolphins. If you aren’t interested in dropping a few $k USD per character and aren’t interested in PvP then fine but if you want PvP skip this game. TLDR: You progress for a few months and then get reset and rinse and repeat your levels all over again. Good on paper but resetting progress is pretty annoying and disheartening to see hard work go just like that. Good: Finally an iPad landscape version, good clean graphics, creative character design, decent strategy, interesting landscapes, innovative game modes, devs listen to content creators, tech support actually help. Bad: Community died quickly from the early servers, story is straight out of ChatGPT (script was deemed AI on AI checker), localisation errors, game frequently crashes requiring a full reinstallation, terrible in game events like fishing or speed matching cards, VA were good and new ones don’t match the character vibe, very few promo codes, very little currency if you don’t spend, very expensive to get Cele/Hypo units. It’s a good game but the idea of seasons where you start from level 1 every 3 months with all your existing characters is disheartening and while it can be refreshing it’s also just not all that fun to think that from July to September’s progress will be wiped and you’ll just get a few summons and on your way to rinse and repeat for another few months. This model may be for some but I don’t see it as a fun thing.

The paragon change ensure this game only tailors to whoever spent the most. A less spender has their hero with 30% less stats than whales. I myself spent some for skins and exclusive equipment but never seen so blatant cash grab. It won’t see another dime from me.

I absolutely love this game so much from the storyline to the amazing graphics and voice acting to the battles and gameplay.. I love the diversity of all the characters and the fact you can play without spending a cent.. Imo though for a free game the creators deserve the cash if you can spare some change I know I did for them lol.. Download this game u wont be disappointed but be prepared to play everyday cause u wont want to stop.. It’s that awesome and addictive.
