1️⃣ Even if perhaps – or even Probably, if not Surely – still not 100% perfect, to date I definitely have seen no better in its league than Airtable. A true game changer it is, long-standing meanwhile, undefeated so far. 2️⃣ "Imperfections" nonetheless ? Here's an example for the pudding. 🅰️ This demo-scenario is about a non-rich text data box, and our test operation is reduced to a matter of in-place "Select / Copy / Paste", or alternatively "Select / Copy / Reselect / Paste", the latter sequence involving the given extra step, depending on whether or not our selection would get dropped upon Copy. The selection we're talking about can be just a_single word, or whichever text portion you choose to select. The outcome of this essentially meaningless scenario will be particularly striking when performed from an editing position somewhere early in the text box at hand. → Indeed, the result of this "whole operation" is supposed to have nothing actually changed, but a_side-effect makes the insertion point out of the blue **jump to end of field**, which when it happens makes one wonder where the cursor may have gone all at once (with Whitney Houston) -- especially if we started out, as said, from a relatively early position inside somewhat longer field content. 🅱️_This_unexpected cursor jump in fact occurs for any "replacing" paste, not just only with our simplified "the same in-place" example. 🆑_Regarding consistency of behaviour, no such cursor jump will occur in a "Rich" text field. 3️⃣ Admittedly the above is a really really utterly minor flaw -- probably persisting in Airtable on_iOS (and iPadOS) since v9.1 or something, if not all the way back perhaps right from inception. 4️⃣ Conclusion no matter what :: Airtable : Superb – A_game changer. //_Airtable v9.6.1, on iOS v16.6 ; ⌜2023.07.29.Sa.07:10⌝.

A Limitation ( UFL, but probably due to technical reasons ) to AirTable's otherwise incredible Design Flexibility *even at_Runtime* [ or_call_it *Data Manipulation Time*_] ::: Still a Limitation ::: ♦️1️⃣ Looking into a Linked record, }} 2️⃣_In_the linked record, choose "Customise Fields" from the 12h drop-down. }} 3️⃣_Well, UFL, here in this situation *fields cannot be reordered*. In_other words : Field Display Sequence cannot be changed; all field handles at right side of screen are ~Locked.♦️ It's a limitation we might stumble upon every once in a while. § [ AirTable v4.4 ] [ iPhoneSE.2020 • iOS 14.3 ] [ 2021.01.14.Thu.17:20 ]
Missing some Key Features
1. It is really missing offline capabilities. I was at least expecting offline viewing. 2. Grouped views are beautiful on the web, why are they missing in the app? Beautiful concept, app, UX, but these two missing features are stopping me from using it for any project.
