Great Alarm - Kills my battery

skyler6453 on

Have loved this alarm for going on 7 years BUT recently has started to take up over 40% of my battery life, killing my phone before dinner. If this is was resolved this is a 5star app, but anything that makes your phone otherwise unusable is auto 1-star for me.

Make Alarmy Great Again

NoSleepForBrooklyn on

So I use to have this all back in college when I owned an android because I have a serious problem with waking up and missed multiple exams from it. When I found this app it quite literally saved me and and was a huge help towards graduating. Didn’t use it for a while because I’m self employed and don’t have to wake up at any particular time, but recently I started sleeping till 4pm oversleeping the Apple alarm or maybe turning it off unconsciously so I decided to give Alarmy another try. First off the IOS version is not near as effective. I normally do 7 math problems on hard mode and that worked like a charm, until I realized you can just delete the app rather than solving multiple hard math problems, and now I wake up late every afternoon realizing I deleted the app subconsciously while in deep sleep. I imagine this is probably not the developers fault but more of a restriction that Apple puts on apps. But the android version was not deletable and you also couldn’t even turn off your phone as I learned when it went off during a lecture and I had the barcode set to can of chicken noodle soup at my house so I had to run out of class 😂 if it’s possible you should implement this on the iPhone version because it stopped working for me once I realized the cheat around it. But the reason for my two star review comes from your absolutely stupid subscription plan. You expect me to pay $60 a year for premium features? I could buy 5 alarm clocks from Amazon every year for that same price. That’s absolutely absurd. I would have no problem paying a ONE TIME fee of $20 for this but subscription culture is the biggest scam in the world rn and you guys are clearly exploiting it. Netflix for a year is the same price I mean cmon that’s absurd. Change the premium to a one time payment of $20ish range, and update it so that I can’t just delete the app in my sleep to turn off the alarm and I’ll gladly pay the one time fee and continue using Alarmy. Otherwise I think my $60 would be better off buying 5 physical alarm clocks every year until I have so many that i have to walke around the whole house to turn them off I’m sure this comment will never be seen by you guys but if it is seriously think about the fact that you are charging $60 annually for a subscription. That’s legitimately a scam. Either make it a one time payment or like $1 a year or a one time payment. Quite literally Netflix is the same price. And also make it so you can’t just delete the app to turn it

In app purchases

Laureneatsfood on

In app purchases before your brain is even half turned on can be kinda tricky lol. For someone who uses apple pay a lot i’m very used to double tapping my lock button. Waking up yesterday my semiconscious self was trying to turn my alarm off and instead of saying no to the in app purchase, apparently i said yes and then absentmindedly went through the apple pay process as if that was my alarm stopping procedure. 60$ all because i was too dead to realize what i was doing. I had a huge part to play in this but it’s still frustrating. Apple declined my refund request even though it was seconds later

I put Christmas music as my alarm and it played harp when I woke up

Zoe’s Un-Alarmy-ing Rant: Hard Pass on the Paywall

Xade on

United States

Oh boy, where do I even start with Alarmy, the app that used to be my reliable, not-annoying wake-up call? Yeah, emphasis on used to be. Once upon a time, it was a neat little freemium deal. You’d set your alarm, shake your phone a little, and boom, you’re awake. Easy peasy, right? But noooo, some corporate genius decided that freemium wasn’t enough. Now, it’s a 7-day trialware! Seven days to test my patience before slapping me with a paywall higher than Gavin’s sense of heroism. First of all, who wakes up in seven days? Zombies from The Ring, maybe. But us mere mortals? I’m still trying to hit the snooze button with my face half the time. Seven days is barely enough to figure out if the app is actually worth using. And don’t even get me started on the premium features, like, “Oh, look at us, we can force you to take a picture of your sink to turn off the alarm.” Wow, revolutionary. Because that’s what I want to do first thing in the morning—stare into my dirty dishes before I’ve had my coffee. You know what else is a great wake-up call? Losing your pancakes because the delivery guy forgot where you live. Happens every time. So thanks, Alarmy, but I’ll stick to the free version while it lasts and just pray the pancakes get here before you charge me for the privilege of turning off my alarm. TL;DR: Alarmy? More like “Alarm-y Gonna Make Me Pay?” Hard pass. Like my snark? You’ll love Zoe in Snack Powered Mage, available now on webnovel dot com.

Snooze button hasn’t been loading

Incidental the Druid on

United States

I had used this app for a long time but lately the snooze button has turned into a weird white box that is hard to discern when I am not fully awake, it has led to me sleeping through a couple alarms because the only option I see is to turn it off instead. If you want an app with a snooze button, maybe try a different one

Better than normal clock

SanHolo! on

United States

May not be as insanely polished and simple like the normal clock but works 1000% better, doesn’t shut off the sound after a few seconds or just miss going off. Was late to work several times and other events due to the normal but this app helped a bunch!!
