Learn Japanese－Hiragana, Kanji

So good for learning how to write hiragana and memorising it

It his that balance of letting you learn to write and have bad handwriting while not letting you write it illegibly, not only that but it lets you see the answer if you need the app trusts you to let yourself learn (also it’s one lifetime payment for bonus stuff instead of bleeding you dry monthly like most language learning apps do)

You’re forced to pay for the Kanji in the app which is a separate purchase from the hirigana.

Really good little app. You can practise stroke order and the relative accuracy of your Kana writing. Very simple, but something that most other Kana apps don’t seem to do. It’s so helpful to actually practise writing it, as it’s very easy to learn it by recognition, but a whole other thing to learn to draw it perfectly from memory. I’ve gained a lot of confidence from this app, and it’s definitely one that I’d recommend to those wanting to properly learn hiragana and katakana. The only issue is that I purchased the whole app on my iPad, then decided that I’d use it more on my phone, but the purchase didn’t transfer. So I’ll have to buy it again if I want access to the whole app… It wont break the bank, but I can’t seem to find a way to fix it, which is annoying. So consider what device you’ll use it more on before purchasing!

I'm learning Japanese on Duolingo, but every exercise on there is receptive to passive and it never asks you to produce the letters. After the initial stages, I could tell the hiragana just hadn't sunk in, so I looked around for a supplement. This has been absolutely ideal. Light touch and enjoyable.

Despite having studied Japanese for a few years, I hadn’t really payed much attention to actually writing the kana by hand until recently where it became a lot more of an issue. I’ve tried many different apps but this one is by far the best. The only thing that would make it better would be a version for kanji lol

Love this app but it doesn’t recognise a lot of characters even when written by my native Japanese friends

I’ve learnt a lot more kana with this app than I have with others, writing it out and having positive reinforcement from a little robot helps so much! My only critique that’s holding me back from rating this 5/5 is that the app is a little temperamental, as said in previous reviews sometimes I get marked wrong for writing the kana in the correct way; however that could also be used for learning as you’re made to write it out again! For the price I can totally look past this mistake and will continue to use this until I master kana! It’s really worth it for beginners ╰(*´︶`*)╯♡

This app has been super helpful and effective for memorising kana for my Japanese lessons. Only problem is that the app can’t seem to recognise my handwriting with the dakuten and handakuten symbols, even if I trace them with the practise aid near perfectly. I’m using the Apple Pencil and am left handed.

I have been teaching myself hiragana and this app is great for practicing the correct way to write the characters. So far I have completed the vowels and moved onto the K’s (ka ki ku,etc). My only reservation with the app is that on the harder levels where I must write out characters without the correct way to write it shown, the app does struggle to identify whether or not I have written it correctly which can become irritating. A suggestion would be that we could work on individual characters within categories, for instance the hiragana for ‘fu’ may need more practicing then the other ‘h’ characters so it would be nice if I could practice writing it over and over again rather than it just moving on to the next character in the category. Other than that, this app has been super helpful!
