A fantastic app
Probably the best money I’ve spent on an app since Procreate. The review feature is great, the fact that it teaches you the stroke order and makes sure that you remember each kanji is phenomenal. Great app all around!

The detection for when you write Kanji is sadly very floored and can be very annoying to deal with. You can write the kanji almost perfectly and the app won’t accept it but then in the same instance, you can scribble gibberish on the screen and it will accept that. Thankfully, it only happens to some Kanji, not all. But, annoying nonetheless.
Really nice interface and optional settings, bite-size learning, great for use on iPad and iPhone (though note that progress is not synched between the two)
After having bought access to all levels, the app stopped working completely. I had no issues during the trial version. I tried to contact the devs for a fix or a refund, but no response has been made.
Currently studying JLPT N4 content and this app is a life saver for practicing stroke order and just remembering how how read and write Kanji!!! I highly recommend using this app, it is totally worth paying the couple of quid per deck.
Love it for teaching me the correct stroke order of kanji, and how it seems to recognise my strokes quite accurately. The only real issue I have is that sometimes it lags a bit so a stroke will look a bit strange as it didn’t process the whole movement - rare, but occasional. In terms of improvements it would be good if a custom meaning for kanji could be added instead, as usually this app will be used alongside another system which may use slightly (or vastly) different meanings. The only other thing I can think of is that it would be nice to have some kind of line stabilisation when using the Apple Pencil, as straight lines seem quite wavy at times.
Great app, teaching stroke order for kanji as well as recall and recognition. Works especially well with the Apple Pencil when you enable that specific mode in the settings (better palm rejection etc.). My only gripes are that I wish the hint button was at the top of the screen than the bottom when writing, as I feel that I’m going to accidentally hit it. Also, it would be nice to be able to enable a grid for the kanji writing parts so that it would help me to get the proportions of the various parts of the kanji correct.
This app is great. Brilliant tool to practice Kanji. Simple. Good review structure. I love it and use it daily! What’s really helpful is having the transitive / intransitive verb clearly labelled when learning verbs. What would be really great to include in future updates: - not all the verbs have the Tran/Intran identification on them. It would be good if they did - include a label for ‘noun, adverb, adjectives’ etc too - would be amazing to have a review feature where you just practice handwriting of each kanji rather than having to go through all the hiragana and other bits first Thanks for the app!
but theres one thing i suggest to you, sometimes when writing the kanji, this has happened with some such as 「学」 or 「行」 sometimes i get the stroke right but it restarts and says i got it wrong. i love the app though!
Firstly, the pricing is far too high. There’s no way to break up studying. For example, I can’t only practice the writing. I can’t only practice kanji order or word structure. The stroke recognition is also a bit buggy. Some kanji are worse than others such as 毎. There’s also no stroke correction. So the kanji ends up looking awful. Finally, there’s no way to change the grading. The kanji sets are focussed on JLPT, but I can’t study old group or change to school grade levels instead. Overall, it will do for now. But looking for something better.
