Octopus for Tourists

No HKD option to top up, only Octopus’ atrocious FX rates. Such a scam on tourists!

This app seemed like it was going to be really useful. No need to source a physical Octopus card on arrival and the ability to top up with a foreign card too (aside: it’s stupid not to be able to do this for a standard card). So I went to set up a card - you can only pay in non-HKD currencies. My home currency would be Euro, for which the app wants to charge 6% more than the market rate (without telling you that there is a surcharge). “No problem”, I thought, “I’ll just pay in HKD”. But you can’t. My own bank does not charge me for foreign currency transactions and there is no honest reason to prevent me paying in HKD. Since there is no way I am prepared to pay 6% on top of every Octopus transaction, I will have to resort to tapping a real Octopus card. This app is a triumph of greed and bureaucracy over innovation.

用八达通请直接去apple钱包添加卡，这个app会乱吞卡而且不退钱。百来块钱的卡，要用的时候跟我说无法使用，客服电话打不通，钱也退不了。

骗子软件充钱了不给卡

剩余退不了款，一段时间后卡信息都没了，客服电话打不通，不知道app咋审核通过的，

大家慎重下载这个app，我用苹果手机下载后，往里面充值了，绑定不到钱包，连个卡号都不显示，也没有上面显示的退卡界面显示，你就冲了，能不能还不知道

银联24年4月宣布Apple pay可以支持内地卡充值八达通了。 直接苹果钱包添加八达通使用任意银联卡充值就行，不需要用这个不完善的旅客八达通了。 无法退款，系统各种同步不正确，退款要两三个月就算了，根本申请不了退款。

交通卡直接支付宝，买东西看汇率低可以多充一点，如果只是交通卡，既麻烦又费钱，手续费来来回回花了我23+

充值了350，充值完啥也没有，点进去又是叫我充值；找银行，银行说得找八达通，八达通也联系不上！千万别用这个破软件，汇率还奇差，贵的要死，不如用微信支付！谁用谁后悔！

诈骗，充了钱就卡出去了，未能提供服务，钱拿不回来，登也登不进去，恶心
