Are.na

I love this platform so much. But man, this app needs a lot of work. A few months ago, are.na upped their prices, for the reason being that they’re dedicating more resources to make the platform more stable. Well, the mobile app really needs it.

Mostly use on desktop but increasingly on my phone. Noticed lately it’s been freezing and i cant do anything besides close the app or it just crashes itself. Kinda bummed considering how much we pay to use it 🙃

Dispute some minor lagging and the interface issues (understandable since the company is small), I really enjoy this app. I found something that isn’t actively trying to get me to buy something, and promotes an actual creative experience that’s user driven, and not super algorithmic. Feels like old tumblr. Highly rec.

App keeps it simple which I think is good. I pay for full fledged Are.na on desktop. The cons are the loading screen takes too long when opening the app and the app does not remember your “focus” i.e. what you were looking at and always kicks you back to your feed.

Super cool app but when my font size is increased I often cannot scroll down to finish reading the text that would normally he on screen if the font was regularly sized

I save most of my links using the iOS app and it has two specific bugs that have been there since I’ve started using Are.na. The first is that the paste link from clipboard functionality doesn’t work. iOS says it pasted the link but nothing shows up and I have to paste again. The second issue is once I save a link it brings me to the new connection and there is no way out. In order for me to go back and do anything else I have to terminate the app and open again. While neither of these are total show stoppers I think it’s unacceptable for a paid service to have these long standing bugs for this amount of time.
