I stumbled across Are.na by mistake and fell in love with it immediately. It minimalistic interfaces are beautiful, very easy to use.
Now, I use it on my iPad because I need my iPad for work and Are.na has become quite useful for my work too, the problem is; while I’m exploring or just about to connect an image to my block the app shuts down completely.
It’s quite a nuisance and wastes a lot of my time as I have to search for the images again.
I really love this app, but because of this problem I’ve stopped using the app and instead use it on the pc when I can.
Mixed feelings
I love are.na and use it daily, I’m a paid subscriber to the platform and value what it has brought to my life, however, the recent price increase has to come with major updates for me to justify continuing. Especially to this app and the chrome / iPhone save to are.na features. They often freeze completely and there are a lot of bugs and design inconsistencies. Worst of all is the slow load and upload times for content, it’s a real problem when you use it multiple times a day. I’m finding myself leaving feeling frustrated more and more, rather than satisfied or inspired. I will stick around for the time being but expect an improved service soon for the increase in cost.
Good but…
I love Arena. The look of it it’s cool and being ad-free is just incredible, considering now that every single app has targeted app.
This said, they need to implement more features. The mobile app is incredibly basic, almost frustrating at times. I am sure they hate being compared to Pinterest (and I am completely aware of their obvious differences), but there are some really basic features that Pinterest has and that Arena (I think) should have too but it lacks. Especially considering the monthly price that the developers ask.
So unstable
Love Are.na but why is the app so unstable, I can’t use it for more than a minute without it crashing. So frustrating. Please fix it!
Sounds great but just not useable!
This should be a slick app for dumping all sorts of stuff you come across when googling away, it looks sleek and striped back but unfortunately it doesn’t work. Really it doesn’t work! Firstly you couldn’t even sign up (error), every time I copy something in it just spins and spins like windows 95, has it crashed, is it thinking. It should be something you don’t need to think about, it should work fast and effectively or what is the point of this Pinterest clone.
Allow the video upload please
The app and format is clean and everything but it would really be beneficial for many people to be able to upload video and work on the application.
Clean looking app
Clean looking app but crashes all the time has massive issues with loading content and uploading content. Aesthetically and user interface this is great however the developers really need to working on loading times and the consistent crashing. I would love to be able to upload from my laptop as well.
