Tried to cancel GAP insurance using app, as both automated phone call and website suggest, but the app doesn’t work. Tried other ways to contact but no joy. Useless!!!

Had insurance over a year without a claim. Now I need to claim, can’t even get past the App sending an SMS security code to enter. Tried multiple times and it is not sending so I’m in limbo The ‘Send another code’ link isn’t working either! I will have to call the old fashioned way on Monday!
I’ve just bought a new car so wanted to cancel my existing GAP insurance. Won’t let me cancel and can’t get to speak to anyone. Won’t be using them for my new car GAP insurance.
Both the app and the company are totally useless. I wish I had never been introduced to them. I’ve paid over £300 for gap insurance but the app doesn’t accept I exist.
When I try and upload a tyre claim I get an error… wish i did not pay for this service it’s been pointless

Trying to set up app on phone. Downloads ok but stall when verification of needed - very frustrating for ‘an easy to use’ app.
I must say that I have used the Smart Protect Service in the past and would recommend it. That said, they should fire this app developer because it is not fit for purpose. The app will not provide available repair dates. To further frustrate the customer, the call centre automated response refers back to the app. I cheated and got to speak to somebody through accounts, the process is that someone will contact in three working days offering repair dates😃
There’s a great comedy sketch of a helpful but hapless company offering help by forwarding the claimant to the contact and complaints department. Which in itself aims to be as unhelpful as possible. This is that company.
Opened app to make a claim, once I got past my details, my only option was to go back. That’s 5 minutes of my life I’ll never get back.
